Oregon fans have been treated to a fantastic 24 hours. One day after head coach Chip Kelly signed a contract extension through 2015, the Ducks landed their 11th commitment. Lakewood (Calif.) linebacker Rahim Cassell committed to the Oregon coaching staff. Cassell called coach Don Pellum, Nick Aliotti, and Chip Kelly to give them the good news.
"All the coaches were excited," Cassell said. "They told me they enjoyed me as a person and I was a great player. During the visit it just felt like family, like I had known them for years."
Cassell recently visited Oregon and Arizona State. He had plans to visit Boise State but cancelled that visit and decided he was ready to commit.
Oregon is recruiting him to play weak-side linebacker.
He can graduate early but decided he would like to finish his senior year of high school.
Cassell said he will consider taking other official visits but will talk to the Oregon coaches first.
