E.J. Singler and the Oregon Ducks were picked 7th in the Pac-12 preseason poll.
Pac-12 media day for basketball is set for today and Dana Altman and senior E.J. Singler are down in San Francisco for the event. This morning the Pac-12 released the 2012-13 preseason basketball poll voted by Pac-12 media.
Arizona was picked to finish first followed by UCLA, Cal, Stanford, Washington, and Cal.
Dana Altman's Oregon Ducks were voted seventh in the poll entering Altman's third season as head coach. Oregon State, USC, Washington State, Arizona State, and Utah followed the Ducks.
The Pac-12 media have correctly picked the conference winner 12 out of 20 times.
In Altman's first two season the Ducks have finished ahead of their projected ranking. In 2010-11 Oregon was voted 10th in the preseason poll and finished seventh and won the CBI Tournament with a 21-18 record. Last season Altman's Ducks were picked fifth in the conference and finished tied for second and lost to Washington in the NIT Quarterfinals.
