Oregon fans either went to bed or woke up to big news regarding the commitment of Danny Mattinlgy. The 6-foot-4, 215-pound prep took his final official visit to Oregon last weekend and after some time decided that's where he would play his college football.
It was believed that Oregon and UCLA were in a heated battle. After his final visit report it sounded like Mattingly was favoring UCLA. However a tip to DuckTerritory following the trip gave Duck fans reason to have hope.
After stepping away from a long time Notre Dame commitment, Mattingly was no longer considering the Irish.
The four-star recruit has been recruited to play linebacker and tight end. Oregon was recruiting Mattingly specific to play linebacker.
Oregon now has 13 commits with the addition of the Spokane (Wash.) Mead four-star.
