Oregon will miss freshman Dominic Artis for some extended time.
Oregon's dream season has their first speed bump with news breaking late Friday night that star freshman point guard Dominic Artis will be out Saturday against Washington with a foot injury.
The Register Guard first reported the news late Friday night saying Artis will be out indefinitely with " a foot injury of undetermined severity."
A DuckTerritory source says Oregon will be outwith him for "three to six weeks. Three if it's minor and six if it's bad." The source believes Artis has a fractured foot and injured it two weeks ago. It is unknown if Oregon's freshman guard injured his foot in a game against Arizona or Arizona State.
Artis averaged 10.2 points, 3.8 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game. He led the team in assists as well as leading the team in three-pointers made with 26 points.
Junior Johnathan Loyd will assume the point guard duties at Oregon with Artis out. Behind Loyd will likely require freshman Willie Moore to step up and play more minutes.
The DuckTerritory.com source said Artis should be back before the Pac-12 Tournament.
