    • I would put Vanderdoes number 1, Steven Mitchell number 2 he loved Oregon had them as his fav ahead of SC. Ducks paid him no interest than try to sneak back in 2 weeks before LOI day. I still shake my head at that one.

    • Great piece Justin. I read the dirt on EV, and I am frankly pretty shocked at the level of incompetence on Azz's part. To not call a kid like that back for an extended period of time..just don't get that. That being said, I am thrilled with what we ended up with. Great job by the staff.

    • I find it very interesting that many of our top misses ended up at ND, Vanderdoes, Redfield and Luke. All could have and wanted to be Ducks but ended up Irish.

      I wonder why that is? I'm not think there was any type of conspiracy or anything, just found it interesting they all ended up there.

    • Think Helfrich will prove to be a hell of a coach and recruiter---At 83 I'm hoping to get a few more years of OU football and see if Hell-frich does brings home the title---

    • Try to get ahold of Helfrich's interview on XM91 yesterday. This appears to be the order of priority

      Don't think you are going to see a kid recruited that only plays football and only plays one position.. Don't know how any of the "misses" fit into that, but the interview was very enlighting.

    • Reply to Natty_Dread: Sums it up for me too. But neither Azz nor Kelly are here to explain their side, or apologize for purportedly dropping the ball. We likely never will know, unless Jhop reports it. But somebody loves Azz as he's now Dline/Assistant Head Coach at Philly.

      I don't know Azzinaro, but from all I've read about the indiscretions and the recruiting stuff, dang, he doesn't sound like the type of guy you want to be around, even if he is a great coach.

      The Vanderdoes thing is mystifying. There were tons of top targets that wanted to check out Oregon but weren't given the chance too. Some of those, like Redfield, I understand. But the Vanderdoes thing. Wow. Just. Don't. Get. It.

      I think Kelly said from the get go to himself he was going to the NFL, and was just waiting for the perfect job, you do the math but from what Justin said he was all Duck and wanted to sign, among some other player's like cole hand luke, so I just say I think Kelly didn't want to leave to much in the cupboard for Marc and company, because you know Kelly know's this Team has the Talent to bring it all Home next year, So with that said I believe the conspiracy thing all the way. So I say good riddance cause your the one that said no one person is above the Team and apparently it excluded you from the conversation.

      Doesn't make a lot of sense. That kind of "sabotage" would take a couple years before it was felt and if the team performs well in the mean time and Helf & Co. recruit well it will have no effect at all. Abrasive, yes, egocentric, yes but not intent on destroying what he helped to create.
