Port Neches (Texas) Port Neches-Groves quarterback Brennan Doty will attend Oregon as a preferred walk-on next season. His childhood friend, Zachary Farris of Farris Sports, has confirmed the news with Duckterritory.
"Brennan will attend the University of Oregon as a preferred walk-on," Farris said. "I've grown up with Brennan playing basketball and football with him. He's a special athlete and as far as I know he is going to try and play both sports at Oregon."
Doty was in Eugene on Wednesday and left just before Oregon's Pro-Day began.
According to the school's website, Doty was named All-District offensive MVP. He was also the MVP according to the Port Arthur news super team award.
As a walk-on there is no binding commitment from either party, Doty could enroll elsewhere if he decides to. However all signs indicate he wants to show what he can do at Oregon.
