Hoops GameDay Blog: UO vs UNLV

The 4-0 Oregon Ducks head to the desert of Las Vegas to take on the No. 18 ranked UNLV Running Rebels in the semi-finals for the Global Sports Classic Saturday night. Tip is set for 6 PM and can be seen on the CBS Sports Network (not your regular CBS channel).

Dominic Artis

Dominic Artis and the Oregon Ducks hope to pull off the upset.

Oregon is coming off a 67-45 victory over Jacksonville State this past Monday while UNLV last played on Saturday beating Jacksonville State 77-58. The Rebels have been off since Jacksonville State.

Should Oregon win they will face the winner between Cincinnati or Iowa State at 7:30 PM Saturday. If Oregon loses they will play the other loser Saturday at 5 PM.

The last time Oregon and UNLV met it was back in the 2007 NCAA Tournament when Oregon won 76-72 in a Sweet 16 match-up. Oregon leads the all-time series 2-1.

Oregon's 4-0 start is the first time the Ducks have done it since that 2007 season.

I am told Waverly Austin will return to action after missing Monday's game with a wrist injury while senior Carlos Emory is still a game-time decision after injuring himself on Monday.
