Ducks Drop To No. 5 In BCS Rankings

BCS chaos has officially arrived rearing its ugly head and no team knows that truth more than the Oregon Ducks. Following their devastating 17-14 overtime loss to then No. 13 Stanford at home this past Saturday, the Ducks fall to No. 5 in the latest BCS Standings, behind No. 1 Notre Dame, No. 2 Alabama, No. 3 Georgia, and No. 4 Florida. From Oregon's perspective, nothing is guaranteed -- not even a berth in a BCS game. The Ducks still have an outside shot at playing for a BCS National Championship, but will require losses from Notre Dame and Florida (in addition to winning their game at Oregon State in Corvallis) this weekend in order to climb back in to the national title hunt. Additionally, Oregon may need a win from UCLA over Stanford this weekend in order to sneak back in to the Pac-12 Championship game to perhaps give themselves another opportunity to knock off a BCS Top 25 team. Currently, the Ducks are fourth in the human polls (USA Today/Coaches' and Harris) and maintain an average computer ranking of seven. The chase for a national championship has not ended, but Duck fans will need to do their fair share of scoreboard watching if Oregon is able to knock off the Beavers this upcoming Saturday.

Below is this week's BCS Standings Top 10:

1. Notre Dame - .9973
