Recruiting odds and ends

Nico Falah

Falah could be a legit option for Oregon depending on other USC targets.

One committed offensive lineman target could be more available than many thought and find out which running backs are getting another look from Oregon.

    • Pretty obvious that Ross will be announcing for Washington.

    • Its hard to not be frustrated by the number of recruits that we have quit recruiting for whatever reason. Its always said that the staff is probably confident somewhere else but I don't see any new people committing or a lot of new interest from anyone. I try to not be frustrated but its starting to get old that we cant close the deal or we just quit recruiting them. With all the chip news its hard to not feel like the sky is falling.

    • Great stuff Justin, as always. Isn't Ross just a clone of 2 current Ducks: Lowe and Addison??

Frankly, Oregon is incredibly lucky to have a very quality coach like Mark Helfrich already on staff.

    • Thanks J-Hop. I am not concerned if we don't get Ross. I really feel like there are more pressing needs than playmaking wide recievers. I think we have plenty of those and if we are going to fill up with linemen, both offensive and defensive, and linebackers with this class I think that is a better way to address what the team needs going forward. I think there are still enough potential targets at these positions that we don't need to panic quite yet about missing on a wr target even if he is talented.

My Number 1 get is Thomas Tyner, and If he's the only recruit we get I'll do flip's because this kid is gonna be great right from the get go he'll probably end up being our featured RB and move DAT mainly for the slot, and Justin your exactly right about being lucky to have Helfrich cause he's a hell of a Coach.

    • Sure hope Dontre sticks with the Ducks. He and Tyner will be phenomenal together.

      Quackmama

    • All I can say is I'm so glad we have a very talented and young team. This class looks as if it could crumble before our eyes. Tyner is the only kid I really, really hope we don't lose. That would devestate me for about a day. Lol. If this class does get dismantled the staff can't pussy foot around recruiting again next year. They have to be aggresive.

      KeepOnDucking

    • I think the most important thing for this class is keeping who we already have. There doesn't seem to be very many legit targets still out there to close with. Maybe duarte, Cunningham, Williams, kalambayi, but those are all maybes at best. If the ones already verbal end stick with it then I think it will work out fine.

      rpmunn

    • Dontre is not going anywhere; neither will Tyner. The Twins are the ones to sweat over, if any. We don't need a power-packed class to keep the program rolling, and if the program continues to roll next year under Helf the recruiting will improve due to staff assurance and predictability. It's all good, fellas.

    • per Corey Long of ESPN Wilson is committed 100% to Oregon. Not sure what all of the swirling uncertainty is about. I'll rely on a direct quote from Wilson rather than a trusted unidentified source.

And he has been for weeks, and weeks, and weeks. He's said he'll stay even if Chip leaves as long as Coach Cam stays and reiterated that one recently as well.

But people STILL think he's gone. I just don't get it. He even tweeted last night saying thanks to the Ducks for getting his birthday present - a Fiesta Bowl win.

ESPN site, Recruiting - Insider info. Great quote from Wilson. “The minute I saw De’Anthony Thomas return that kickoff I was ready to throw on a jersey,” He also is quoted as saying “I’m 100 percent committed to Oregon.”

      +1...there's another one.

The only reason I can ever logically come to with all the decommitment rumors is that Texas is stirring things up in the media down there and using journalist contacts to spread it.

More than likely just the media talking to itself to create "stories". The coaches are too busy to spend time looking at all this stuff. Me, I'm bored to tears watching A & M stomp Oklahoma and enjoy reading some of the posts by hysterical fans.

    • I hate the MEDIA.

      MaitaiDuck

    • Dontre: GUYS I'M ALL DUCK SERIOUSLY STOP ASKING I AM 100% GOING TO OREGON FOR REAL

Random journalists usually named Gerry: lol no you're not, my article says otherwise so it must be true
