Elgin Cook will officially visit Oregon this weekend.

Oregon will host a 4-star 247Sports Composite junior college transfer with three years of eligibility on Thursday against Cal.

But we only have 5 shooting guards in the incoming class.
Seriously tho, right on, we're going to have a ton of available minutes in the front court.

Would be a good get. With all of the folks graduating on the front line, would be good to bring in some experience up front to go along with Austin, Carter and Kemper. Somebody that could take Singler's spot on the wing would greatly help next year's team.

Is this a fallback plan in the event that Oregon is not able to sign Gordon or if there are eligibility troubles with Felicio?

I think Arkansas is the team to beat for this guy. Wondering if we rid ourselves of a couple of scholarship players who do not appear to be good enough to play at this level?

This guy is a high wire act ... really good in transition ... very smooth and a great finisher ... can finish with and has very good use of his left hand ... superb basketball body; would be fantastic in our extended defenses and presses. He's kind of a three-man's version of Jordan Bell, in some ways ... how quick and explosive he is off the floor ... excellent shot-blocker ... can really go ... would be an excellent pickup for us ... (I only saw one jumpshot ... the form looked fine, but obviously, that's not his strong suit, given the highlight videos I watched. He's shooting something like 64% from the field, which tells you where his shots tend to come from ... I hope he doesn't have Kazemi type range, though I suspect he has Bell-like range ... I've always maintained that if the form is good, then it's really mostly a matter of shooting a zillion of them and getting that (proper) stroke muscle-memorized.)

His coach says the young man has , 'a really high skill level' ... that explains Gonzaga. That's the number one quality they look for "FEEL, for the game," i.e., "SKILL LEVEL" ...
That is formidable competition we're facing ...
Altman can always tell him that he turned down Arkansas, and took Oregon, and here's why ....
We really need this guy ... looks to be a real difference-maker.

Yes totally agree, He just has to step on the court and he's better than Singler.

EJ is Oregon's all-time winningest player ... he has had one superb career. He's playing in pain. He will be sorely missed, when he graduates.
