Two weeks ago I went 5-0 and that quickly was washed away as I went 3-3 last week. I expected Cal to beat Utah, Oregon State to beat Washington, and like most USC to beat Arizona. All three of those games were misses as upsets were handed out.
Will the Ducks get the win down at USC?
My running total now sits at 46-18 on the year. Onto this week's games:
Washington at Cal
Thurday morning word started leaking out at Berkeley, CA that junior star receiver Keenan Allen was going to be out. Later in the day Cal came out and announced the junior receiver is out for this week with a PCL injury and is week to week. That changes the game in my eyes as I felt like Washington would struggle some with Allen. Without Allen I think the Huskies become the clear favorite. Jeff Tedford's career is hanging in the balance too.
Look for Washington to get up big, withstand a push from Cal, and cruise to a victory.
Washington 31 Cal 14
No. 15 Stanford at Colorado
Stanford was able to get out of dodge with a close victory at Pullman against the Washington State Cougars last week. Colorado is just trying to stay above water with their insane run of games against USC, Oregon, and now Stanford. I think this one is over early.
Stephen Taylor will put up another who game on the ground and Josh Nunes will do just enough to stay respectable.
Stanford 31 Colorado 7
Washington State at Utah
Utah got a huge home win last weekend against Cal is is still clinging onto the life of playing in a bowl game. Washington State can't afford to lose any more games if they want to play in a bowl game. I think this turns into a battle. Part of me thinks the Cougars could pull this upset.
Jeff Tuel has a big game throwing the ball but Utah just squeezes out a victory.
Utah 24 WSU 21
Arizona at UCLA
This game is sneaky good and has some major implications on the Pac-12 South. Arizona gets the win and USC loses they control the inside track to get to the Pac-12 title game. If UCLA wins this game they hold the inside track of getting to the title game and could eliminate all hope of USC a few weeks later. I think this game goes back and forth and turns out to be the league's most entertaining game.
UCLA comes from behind in the second half and gets a huge late season win.
UCLA 34 Arizona 28
Arizona State at No. 13 Oregon State
Last week I said the Beavers wouldn't lose prior to the Civil War and they did just that. Now where does OSU go from here? Cody Vaz replaces Sean Mannion at quarterback and multiple Beavers are dealing with injuries. ASU is going to get back star defensive tackle Will Sutton. I think ASU has a legit shot at pulling off the upset.
Oregon State looks bad and plays bad but gets the home town push late and wins a tough one.
Oregon State 24 ASU 23
No. 2 Oregon at No. 17 USC
The big game everyone has been waiting for. It doesn't have as much hype as it did two months or even two weeks ago but this is still a huge game. USC is playing for a Rose Bowl possibility. Oregon is trying to stay alive in the national title game picture. I think USC's sloppy play hurts them but Oregon's first true test also hurts the Ducks. At halftime this game is a close game and setting up for a classic showdown.
In the second half however Oregon's depth on both sides of the ball tips the scale in Oregon's favor.
Oregon 52 USC 38
