Report: UO Asst's Headed To Philly

Oregon defensive line coach Jerry Azzinaro is reportedly headed to Philadelphia to join Chip Kelly's coaching staff.

Multiple reports have surfaced this afternoon that Oregon defensive line coach Jerry Azzinaro and graduate assistants Todd Lyght, Greg Austin, and Matthew Harper will join former Oregon head coach Chip Kelly at his new position in Philadelphia. Jen Beyrle first reported the news on Twitter. Beyrle also reports that Lyght is boarding a flight to Philadelphia as we speak. DuckTerritory's Matt Prehm has confirmed this news independently.

DuckTerritory has been told that it is likely Lyght, Austin, and Harper will serve as quality control assistants under Kelly. The same source also informs DuckTerritory that Georgia defensive coordinator Todd Grantham is believed to be the leading candidate to be Kelly's defensive coordinator with the Eagles.

A separate source close to DuckTerritory has also indicated that they would be "shocked" if Azzinaro wasn't was part of Kelly's coaching staff plans in Philadelphia, presumably assuming the same duties he was charged with at Oregon.

Lasty, The Oregonian's Adam Jude reports that Oregon defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti has turned down an opportunity to be the defensive coordinator at USC.
