Oregon senior defensive lineman Taylor Hart will spend his final year in Eugene being coached by former Arizona Cardinals defensive line coach, Ron Aiken.

Sources close to DuckTerritory confirm that Oregon will hire former Arizona Cardinals defensive line coach Ron Aiken to be the Ducks new defensive line coach.

I really like this move...hopefully he's calling some DL recruits as we speak. i hope his NFL experience helps us recruit and develop interior DLinemen.

It appears that Helfrich will continue to bring upgrades to the program. Whether this is a good hire will have to prove itself over time but certainly is an effort to give DL recruits confidence that we can develop players for the NFL.
It is also good that it is settled so we will have a DL coach to talk with Bellamy.

This is a great move for the present and future of the program. Other schools can no longer use the tactic of "their defense won't make you an NFL caliber player," because we've got a proven NFL coach. Suck it, SEC.

This is a great hire imo. I am very glad that it seems as if we are making financial upgrades when hiring new staff. The best programs pay their assistants well and the new Pac tv deal had been reflected throughout the conference in staff upgrades. We lost 2 great coaches but I'm very encouraged to see that we were able to spend to get the best possible replacements.
I really believe more than ever that the Helfrich era is going to be a golden age for Oregon football, and that it its going to last for a long time.
