The Inside Read: 11/14

This week's Inside Read is loaded with info.

Today’s Inside Read is bursting at the seams with information. Today’s Inside Read talks about who is officially visiting Oregon this weekend against Stanford, injury reports on both offense and defense, the addition of four-star Jordan Bell to the basketball team, an update on Arsalan Kazemi, and much much more.

Tuesday afternoon Oregon’s basketball staff landed their first public verbal commit in four-star power forward Jordan Bell. Bell is a 6-foot-7 power forward who is one of the nation’s best pure athletes. On the defensive side Bell will be a huge addition to Altman’s front court. Most importantly Bell could become Oregon’s focal point of their press. Along with current freshman Ben Carter the Ducks now have to very athletic and more importantly very long power forwards who will be the head of the snake per say for Oregon’s press.

Speaking with Bell’s AAU coach Etop Udo-Ema he believes Bell will be the perfect addition to Oregon’s roster next season in that he could play both center or power forward for the Ducks. Udo-Ema also believes that Bell could guard anyone on the floor night in and night out and while the chances of Bell and a point guard matching up are going to be slim it speaks volumes about his athletic talents.

247Sports,com’s lead basketball analyst Jerry Meyer had this to say about Oregon’s addition of Bell to their ranks:

Jordan Bell is one of the top athletes in the 2013 class. As a combo forward with elite leaping ability, he can guard in the post and also defend wing scorers. Offensively his game is still raw skill wise, but Bell is dangerous in transition and on the offensive boards. It will be interesting to see how his offensive game develops at Oregon.
