Oregon Recruiting Snapshot: The DBs

Leon McQuay III

McQuay would be the crown jewel of Oregon's recruiting haul on defense if he were to commit to the Ducks.

The Oregon Recruiting Snapshot is a one-stop source for the latest on the Ducks' recruiting efforts at each position. Our "state-of-the-group" analysis takes a look at DB.

    • Good write-up Chris. It appears the Ducks are going after all three with their full effort. Given the flexibility of Williams and Robinson if all five of those noted above were to commit I don't see how that hurts Oregon at all. Also, didn't Seisay recently receive a new rating of 91 by 247, becoming a four-star?

I was using the 247Composite rating for the recruits listed.

    • How insane would our secondary be with Daniels and McQuay at safety and Ramsey and Seisay at CB. I'm really liking the idea of Tyree R playing WR. That's where he excelled in HS so I say keep him going in that direction. 6'4", 195lbs. Boom!!! And he's super athletic. He would be a monster receiver for us. Also, if Tyree playing receiver means we continue to pursue LMIII, I think that's the best route to take. Hopefully that's the direction the staff chooses to go.

    • What is the buzz on the Amaoko twins? IIRC, one came in as a safety and the other as a corner. I haven't really heard about their progress this year except that they were learning.

It does seem that the corner position is slim longterm. Love to have McQuay.

Last I heard they were making some nice progress. Would certainly expect them to have a role on next year's team.
