Autzen Audibles

It would be nice if someone could take the time to look at the expected graduations after this year and put together a quick guideline of what positions we'll be looking for in 2013. It seems like we take a two year on/off approach for some positions (by necessity or design), such as the OLine and DLine.

OFFENSE

QB - All of a sudden we're very deep at this position. I would expect we only take one here. It may be tough to get a really top-notch recruit because of the depth and youth we already have here.

RB - Tyner and one more? We'll be losing Barner, although Marshall and Carson should be stepping up for 2013. Interesting to see if we can land another good one here.

WR - This may be tough as we just landed monster back-to-back classes. We will only really be losing Vaughn as a projected 2-deep? Not a lot of room to add more, but you never know.

TE - See above.

OL - Fits into the two year model. Last year was great, this year not so much. Look for a strong haul in 2013. Probably our biggest position of need in this class.

DEFENSE

S - Daniels was a huge pickup. Missing on Shaq hurts only because he was Shaq. We actually seem to be quite deep here. Look for Daniels to ease into Boyett's position while Patterson and Dargan compete for Pleasant's? Also, don't rule out the Amoakos. We seem fairly deep here, but I could see us grabbing one or two more if they're good ones (especially after missing on Shaq and Harper).

CB - Very similar to above. We have young depth here. Mitchell, Hill, Ifo are all crazy good for how young they are. Will Mathis make the leap? Stephen Amoako? We're a little more thin here than we are at safety. Look for 2 or 3 pickups?

LB - Losing Castro and Cottrell hurts a lot. We're set here with the 2-deep for now, but after that things fall off fast. This is probably the biggest position of need on defense. Hopefully Barafo can learn the ropes quickly. Do we take three next year? Four?

DLine - We picked up an amazing number of DEs this year. We also have Koa coming off his redshirt. We should be set at DE for years. That said, our DT seems a bit thin. But, given our unconventional scheme, maybe that's not such an issue. Bair and Balducci should be very solid here, but after them, we have no youth. DT is always everyone's big wish, but striking out on McCarthy and passing on Shittu makes this a position of need. I hope we can get at least one top DT (and no, not Nkemdiche).

SPECIAL TEAMS

P - Seems like we're set here.

K - We will probably need to get a kicker to step in after Moldonado (who I think gets waaaaay too much flak).

Final Count

I know we're a bit short on space next year. Now that we know our incoming class, it would be nice to see how many spaces we'll have next year. Anyway, here's my tally (and I'm no expert):

QB - 1
RB - 2
WR - 2.5
TE - 1
OLine - 5
S - 1.5
CB - 2.5
LB - 3.5
DE - 2
DT - 2
K - 1

Total: ~24

That seems like too many, so we'll probably have to round down on any of the 1/2s, maybe some of the others as well. Thoughts?

I would think Vanderdoes would be a big priority for the domino effect of getting Armstead. Swoopes and Hutchings as well.
