    Here's what I'm going to say on this, and I'm only saying it once. USC has an incredible class, just incredible. And anyone, not only Duck fans would be envious.

    I think most have their issues assuming USC would be hurt by sanctions, but in fact that hasn't happened with respect to recruiting.

    Here's the kicker, it's Aug. 1. There is no Fall camp and it's been a bit since Oregon has made any offers or had a commitment. News is dry and people are clinging to one of the bigger story lines, which just happens to be USC recruiting.

    In 10 days, I doubt there will be another post regarding the USC class.

    /rant

  • Have you guys received definite info on Fall Camp's open/closed status yet?

    Last we heard from Matt it seemed like it would be closed (unfortunately).

    When you announced you coverage the other day was it thinking of Camp being open or will you try to bring us that coverage regardless?

    Although realistic, I think long shots....Oregon is in RSJ's top 5.....Derrick green has like a top 10.....the key is to get both of them on campus!

    Ricky Seals-Jones yes IMO. He's got attention from football, wants to take an official visit, and has the option to try and walkon for hoops which is a big deal for him.

    Derrick Green, yes but put me in the camp that says he won't leave the SEC.

    No official word yet from Oregon's SIDs. I think it will be closed entirely but for interviews following practice. We still will get you guys tons of content however.

  • The pace of Oregon's recruiting has obviously been a huge topic on here. You guys have posted quite a few articles on 2014 players on here lately mentioning contact with Oregon. While we'll never be offering every warm body like UCLA or washington, with this early contact do you see the coaching staff moving their timeline up a bit to keep up with current trends?

    They have to unless they want to get left in the dust. Right now they haven't really hit many 2014 kids with contact but there's a few out there. Oregon will continue to move slowly compared to most other college programs but unless they want to really put themselves into a hole they will have to do some adjusting.

    Look for 2014 contact to really pick up early into September as teams in the prep ranks start playing.

    Oregon, despite what many posters think has always done a good job of identifying talent early in the process. This hasn't changed. Now obviously they don't make those early offers but they still identify and recruit the top targets.

    I don't think they have elevated anything yet. We (recruiting analysts) just have to identify these targets sooner. Typically for myself, I didn't start digging for next years class until about late November or so, I don't have that luxury any longer.
