Beaver fans calling for Riley's Head

I think OSU could go 0-12 just as easily as Oregon goes 12-1. If they can't beat Sacremento State (at home) who can they beat? If I was a pollster I would rank Wisconsin in the top 5. I bet OSU gets blown out by 30+. I'm not a hater, the Beavs are my second favorite team but I feel sorry for their fan base.

You are probably right about them getting blown out but wouldn't it be in Beaver/Riley fashion to shock everyone that has them written off? lol

Unfortunately for them, I don't think they have the talent to do it this year.

  • I grew up & still live among Beavers, and I both know of and understand their frustration -- especially after last year and then to start this year with a loss....and to Sac State...and at home! O, my my!

There are indeed many dour, glum, and gloomy sports fans in Beaver Nation, there's no denying that. However, I think it would be a huge, huge mistake to fire Riley. Along with other posters here, I too think he is both a good coach and a good man.

How quickly some forget, he was playing for the Rose Bowl two years in a row until he ran into the mighty Ducks. Now, if they have two or more losing seasons in a row, then I'd understand looking for another skipper, but not yet; they would deeply regret their hideous rashness.

Poor guy- he was handed the keys to a John Deere and he has turned the program into an Amish Wagon.

Examine OSU's record Pre-Riley, version 1.0. Riley was handed the reins to an Amish Wagon and turned it into a John Deere ... lawnmower.

If VTech can't beat James Madison at home, or Michigan can't beat App. St., who will they ever beat?

It's one loss. A very bad one, but it's one game. No reason to turn it into hyperbole on how bad they are. And yes, they'll likely lose badly to Wisconsin. Though UNLV had success running to the edge against them, just shot themselves in the foot.

Everyone forget how bad they were before Riley? Their problem is thinking they will keep up with the Ducks, which will never happen. Riley is their best shot at SOME success.
