Breaking down the top RB's of 2013

  • Tyner mentioned in a few categories here.

Gerry Hamilton breaks down the running backs in the 2013 class

Florida running back commit Kelvin Taylor tops the charts in two of our running back superlative categories for the 2013 class.

  • Apparently he's not good enough to be the best at any one category. Surprised he didn't get the nod on at least one of them.

  • What a shameful display of ignorance by Gerry. Collins is a great back, but he isn't even remotely as fast as Tyner. 10 TDs in one game, breaking 100 year old national records, *literally* world class speed(for his age, and ESPECIALLY for his size), etc, etc. But some guy from the east coast will ALWAYS be better.

Frustrating I know but remember most people only get limited amount of looks as most kids and that can stick with you no matter what. Tyner is the perfect fit at Oregon for a running back and luckily for Oregon fans what you do in camps and combines and rankings doesn't have an effect in college. Oregon fans learned that with Seastrunk, Carson, and Williams at running back.

  • Gerry also left out the "Going to Ohio State" category in which the main back and all honorable mentions are Dontre.

  • My biggest surprise would be that Kamara or Wilson weren't the top choice for pass catching RB...

No, and he's not going to. Gerry's the only one who's convinced he is hence the joke.

  • I think comparisons to this level and detail are pretty stupid. As Matt stated, no one really sees enough of all of these guys to make accurate predictions on their skill levels. I would be shocked if this RB class is evaluated in three years and Tyner is not recognized as the best in some of these categories, particularly for explosiveness and big play ability.

  • yea, I agree that Tyner should have been given a little more love. Hamilton has Alex Collins as his top Burst and Acceleration back. Obviously haven't seen the young man in person, but if you watch a few videos, Collins looks like a nice back, but in no way is his burst and acceleration in the same category as Tyner's. Honestly, Hamilton must have used ESPN's video that they have with Tyner's profile. It's awful, from one game and doesn't even have a touchdown. A quick search on YouTube has his best work including the record setting game which really shows his freakish acceleration when he hits the hole. Excited to see how that translates to the college level next year

  • Who cares. Does anyone here know who Antone Smith and Marlon Lucky are? No me either, but they where both rated ahead of JStew coming out of high school on scout. Rankings don't matter, coaching and desire do.
