Alabama, LSU, Auburn, Ole Miss, Georgia, and Oregon sit in Thomas' current top six (in no particular order).
"Release Me Cuhhhhhhhh"
Woo!! Woo!! Hope we make the next cut as well, and hope he visits, but I won't be surprised if he doesn't
Which one of those schools is not like the other? In a way its good though, because the path that leads him to Oregon is pretty clear. A lot of those other schools are going to be hammering away at each other and Oregon will be a clear alternative and offer things the SEC schools can't. Its a tough pull anyway you look at it, but if the kind of things that favor Oregon become part of his decision making process we're in prime shape to pull the upset.
Looks to be in order to me... just saying.
thanks.... like that we made first cut.... lets make next cut now....and Visit....
If, in the end, distance is a factor: we're out.
If it's not, then we provide an alternate conference, time zone, climate, offense, and a bunch of other things.
I agree it'll be a tough pull, but unless him keeping us in the mix hurts us with other recruits, I love that we're still in the running.
just noticed his team's logo is almost exactly like the Oregon O
Yup that's what I was thinking. And bring his whole family too.
USC is like a german car, every piece that breaks is of the highest quality.
one of these things is not like the other
We have a shot. All we can ask for for a 5* RB from Alabama. Hopefully he takes the roadless traveled and heads West to where he'll get PT as a freshmen. I honestly think we're #3 right now behind Bama and Auburn and a visit could do wonders. Landing Thomas would be the biggest recruiting feat in Oregon history. Also, if we can pull a 5* RB from SEC country it will help us out in the future to get Southern kids. If Held pulls a top 10-15 class and gets us to another BCS Bowl his first year the skies the limit for our Ducks.
A lot of tough competition up there, but, like others have said, square one: Get him to visit. Let him see the possibility of starting fresh out West where he can be his own man. Develop that relationship Campbell!
He gave a shout out to all his Duck fans
don't know how to properly link tweets
I don't know. If you know De'Anthony Thomas's back story and the fact that he was basically Los Angeles royalty and we swooped in the last few days, that's a tough one to top even if California kids playing at Oregon is a lot more common than Bama kids. Either way a 5 star RB from Alabama would be a real coupe.
I mean, I get wanting to go to Bama but the backfield as deeper than pig sh!t. I know the cream rises to the top but you would think that he would want to go to a spot where he can step on the field from day one and rip it. I'm not gonna name names, but there was a recruit who decided to go to another school because the depth and talent coming in really made him wary. Which, IMO means he made the right decision by going somewhere else. It just surprises me to hear these guys who feel like they are the best there is get scared off by some competition. Hopefully, Roc makes a visit out and sees everything that Oregon has goin on out here
I heard something along those lines happening years ago. Maybe its the same guy you're talking about.
How many RB's does Auburn have? He might want to go there instead of Bama. Especially if he loves the spread. (Malzahn is still doing the spread right???) And its close to home
No, the player I'm talking about was from last class. i'm sure he will give Auburn a good, hard look
Oh ok. Yeah, the guy I was talking about was in the JStew days...He took one look at him and said "Nope."
Bama already has a 4* RB committed for 2014, and Auburn has a 3* in Pettway. I see like 3 from last years class, including a JC transfer. Honestly, its a lot for RT to get through. Whereas with us, we'd have DAT, BM, TT. Benoit maybe. I'm pretty sure his chance for playing time would be higher with us.
HE WANTS TO COME HERE!!! Let's win this kid. The MOST EXPLOSIVE BACK IN THE CLASS BELONGS ON THE MOST EXPLOSIVE TEAM IN COLLEGE FOOTBALL!!!
ALL-CAPS, ALL THE TIME FOR THIS KID.
