The vast majority of high-ranked recruits aren't choosing a school based on scenery, otherwise Alabama wouldn't be the end-all be-all in college football. Not that Tuscaloosa isn't a fine city. So I'm not sure why you keep making posts about how crappy our home state is (this is the fifth or sixth post I've read from you on it in the last two days), and then you guys are surprised that the OSU fans you get here are a little feisty? How do you not expect to get a reaction when you call someone's home a shithole? lol. The "cold" winters and "unbearable" summers someone posted about earlier is just silly btw. We've gotten 2-3 snows all winter, and we've only had one-two weeks of temperatures below 30. I don't remember a summer where we've had temps over 95 for more than a day or two in the last 10 years, I don't notice the humidity I've seen some people posting about here. The weather here is actually quite moderate. This upcoming week temps are going to hit the upper 40s according to weather.com (supposed to be a high of 58 where I live in Ohio on Tuesday). We don't get proper winters here anymore.
Also, with 3 million + OSU fans, of course you're going to get some bad eggs. I've actually rooted FOR Oregon more than I've rooted against (in fact the only time I've rooted against Oregon was when we played you in the Rose Bowl). In before tl;dr (Not trying to pick a fight at ALL btw, I respect Oregon completely. I just keep reading posts here about what a shithole Ohio is, and then in the same thread Oregon fans are asking why they get OSU trolls here--those sort of posts are why haha).

Thanks for the non confrontational post, but the weather isn't as rosey as you make it out to be-triple digits 3 days in a row last summer and yes it's humid, east coast humid?no, but nasty all the same. Yes we do realize that weather isn't the only factor, nor should it be. The fact is, as a state, Oregon trumps Ohio. How do I know these things? Unfortunately family forces me to Columbus at least once a year. Love the horseshoe though.
Yeah.....weather actually matters to recruits.....
No recruit has hated the cold more than Ryan Shazier.
You meant awesome, right?
"Release Me Cuhhhhhhhh"
I saw about a half an hour ago Dontre Wilson tweeted 'Tell me what I need to hear, not what I want to hear'. Take it as you will. I'm guessing it has to do with the pitch he is getting from tOSU coaches. Maybe he's not enjoying his trip as much as tOSU site and mods are saying.
BTW he has since deleted that tweet. Odd. Anyone else see the tweet that I am talking about?
I think the bid deal with weather is Aug and Sept heat and humidity. Hard to play at a high level. Plus, we don't have Tornados in Oregon. I know some kids that tornados really scare
Enjoy Life, it has an expiration date.
De'Anthony Thomas disagrees.
What does Tre have to hear. Urbo says: Oregon does it best but I've been there to study their offense and now I need their athletes. Please trust me I'm gator fodder. The day win or something like that.

Only one letter off.
Interessssting. I'd agree, that doesn't sound as though he likes what he's hearing.
Earlier in the thread someone posted about Urban's history w/RBs. In my opinion the reverse is the problem--from what I've heard, OSU is trying to sell him on being a Slot WR who runs occasionally, rather than a RB who catches the ball out of the backfield. That is one major advantage Oregon has (you guys can correct me if I'm wrong, I haven't followed his recruitment all year) if Oregon is indeed recruiting him as a pure RB (i.e. more carries than catches). OSU won't recruit him as a pure RB being that they already gave Ezekiel Elliott the spot (and their word, as much as that means from college coaches these days) that he'll be the only pure RB recruit. As much as people scoff at the "Percy Harvin role," it's what he's being recruited at according to 11w/247/etc articles from what I've heard. He may not want that role.

Nah, we are essentially recruiting him for the same position. It is the De'Anthony Thomas role. No advantage there.
Ahhh gotcha, that's why I deferred to you guys haha. Thanks for clearing that up!
Thanks for your measured comments on here. My wife is an Ohio native, and I think Columbus is a fine mid-size city. This time of year makes people a little amped around here, and you may be getting the brunt of it!
His dad said last week they were just doing their due diligence with traveling to Columbus, as an insurance plan. I don't expect him to flip, from what I have followed he's a bright kid who does his homework.
USC is like a german car, every piece that breaks is of the highest quality.
Carlos Who'd? Lol. Chris Rainey is a woman beating criminal. The Steelers didn't want him. He won't even be playing in the NFL in the next few years. He'll probably end up in prison for beating women. Kind of a common theme for players under Urban and the way he recruits(no evalution of character, just stars) it's almost guaranteed he'll have another roster full of degenerates at OSU. At least you'll be winning right? No class whatsoever.
Bottom line is Cam is the best RB coach in the country and consistently puts out NFL running backs. Couple that with just hiring the #1 receiver coach in the country why would Dontre go anywhere else?
Exactly. Great post.
Any tweets from Dontre?
