Apparently tOSU guys have some inside info on their board but they aren't sharing.
I agree. I'll do my best to keep you posted for sure.
As a crazy Buckeye fan I completely understand feeling salty about that!! It is justified....he definitely irked me with the recruiting of Shariff Floyd....
Now I don't know the validity of the statements about using God and religion in his recruiting tactics although I'm sure other coaches use that tactic as well.....as far as I know those were rumors and nothing was substantiated about their being truth behind it.
I was actually anti-Meyer at first if you want to know the truth. I absolutely loved Jim Tressel and what he did while he was here.....and I didn't mind our offensive woes...because that's the style I prefer. However....I have definitely warmed up to Urban Meyer and starting to like what he brings. I know his health concerns were legitimate. I also learned that Urban at some point had an actual conversation with Tressel during his short resignation which I found extremely interesting.
Being from Ohio....I do feel that this was ultimately where he preferred to be in the end. I think he finally stepped down at Florida to take a break if in the end worked out for him because the Ohio State job suddenly became available.
But who knows.....and it's what makes things interesting because there is so much media and fan speculation about damn near everything that very few rumors are actually confirmed and worst....most fan bases will go on hints and speculations as facts.
In the end we all have one, single thing in common. We absolutely love our college football!!
Yeah, I can't vouch for the veracity of any of that, it's all rumour. I just wanted to explain why some fans here might have been feeling a little eggy toward Urban.
I have not seen any real inside info yet.
I'd honestly say at this point with Wilson it's still 50/50 and that only being because he's an out of state recruit for us both.
I feel if Wilson commits to us...he'll be the only one that does.
My gut tells me on signing day it will be Oregon that gets the ink.
The recruit I want to land more than Wilson is James Clark.
Both schools currently have 3 active RB's in the NFL:
Oregon has Jonathon Stewart, LaMichael James and LeGarret Blount
tOSU has Chris Wells, Brandan Saine and Boom Herron.
Definitely. We would too trust me! LOL.
Jeremiah Johnson and Maurice Morris?
And I think Onterrio Smith! /sarcasm
Just went through the posts on Wilson on the tOSU board. No real news of any substance there however no one seems especially confident either.
I suppose we all see how it turns out soon, maybe even later today.

Would I be happy to land the talents of Wilson? You're damn right I would....you can never have to much depth at the skill positions that's for sure....
But in the end I think he ends up in Eugene.
Purely from a football standpoint alone....I realize we have lots to offer recruits....and if football is the most and only important thing (we do have great academics here as well) then I can see Ohio State being hard to turn down.
But.....I myself am a complete nature lover and outdoor enthusiast. One of my favorite destinations is Bend as I've been a climber for the past 17 years and love Smith Rocks! I'm not much for big city living and that includes Columbus. While we have great parks and national forests the landscape here is rather flat unless you travel south and or east.
Your state is absolutely gorgeous and I would have a hard time turning that down as a recruit....there's a lot to offer for sure. So from that standpoint ...... I would never ever blame a kid for wanting to go to Oregon. You have arguably one of the top home field advantages in college football and you guys rock that place every Saturday!
It would be a hard decision for me.....as I believe both schools are a great choice with many different things to offer. It all comes down to what you want.
Best wishes to you guys.
No shit. My girlfriends uncle Alan Watts is a pioneer at Smith Rocks. He has several books out about Smith Rocks, all the trails, etc. I'm told he's even named some trails out there. Cool guy.
As for Wilson's recruitment. I'm anxious to hear how his trip went. Be sure to let us in on anything new.

I'm sure certain aspects of the visit went great, but some of his deleted tweets suggested that he wasn't blown away with the whole affair. "Tell what I need to hear not what I want to hear", "Park Street Saloon showing me no love"
But most commits seem to be about the feel for the staff and place than anything else. When you go to a top 10 program on an official visit. 9 out of 10 times its going to be "great", and it the case of Oregon and tOSU I have no doubt that both were.

feel better now ? what's wrong with peoples attitudes ? were fighting about a high school kids decision. calm down
I did not see them as being active on any NFL rosters.....
So I missed Johnson. Morris is a free agent and is not on anyone's roster.
Smith has been out of the league forever.......
Well if you want to go back that far:
Archie Griffin, Eddie George, Keith Byers, Howard Cassady, Tim Spencer, Robert Smith, Antonnio PIttman, Raymont Harris, Michael Wiley...that's just to name a few who have all played in the league and 3 of those guys won Heismans.
You guys have had some great RB's recently in Barner, James and Blount.....and Thomas is special and will be at the next level as well.
But I'd hardly say you've had more success in that department in the last 20 years. George, Smith, Pittman, Wiley, Wells, Saine and Herron have all played and or playing in the league in the past 20 years.
sounds like oregon should be playing for the crystal ball every year ? no ?
Well Morris may have retired, I was kidding about Smith.
I wasn't going back 20 years, I think those guys are all from the past 10 right?
That's all the Duck RBs of the last decade I think.
Per twitter. Dontre did NOT commit on his visit. JHop has been killin it all morning:). Just one more report baby!!
BMUG I will do that for sure.
Alan Watts?!! LOL...that's awsome! Yep....that man put up what was at the time the hardest sport route in America called 'Just Do It' and it didn't see an American ascent in almost 10 years! He was a visionary. The line was first climbed by J.B. Tribout of France and the 1st American to be able to send it was then a young up and coming teenager named Chris Sharma. Sharma is now at the forefront of sending the hardest sport climbs and boulder problems of the world.
Your girlfriend has a pretty cool uncle!!
Watts is a Smith Rock's legend!
Dont forget Ruben Droughns. He was a stud.
All really good ones too!
She just said that that's very cool that you are aware of her Uncle. We both have been meaning to get out to Smith Rock's soon for some fun. Probably spring.
That's certainly good news for you guys!!
This is the guy I want the most but I'm not going to hold my breath.
check him out at 1:16. Reminds me of a speedy return man up in San Fran.......
Thanks for pointing that out... yea that was just..nasty!!!
A tidbit on the side...
A kid that I coached was supposed to take a visit to OSU yesterday, they're looking at him as a preferred walk-on. They re-scheduled because they've "got a big fish coming in." That fish was Dontre.
scout OSU board seems to think he's going to go to Oregon.
