OSU fan here, was just curious if you guys have heard anything about Dontre Wilson RB from Texas possibly wavering on his commitment to you guys?
It seems like he would fit your system perfectly but we are hearing a couple rumors he may consider OSU again.
Thxs, I figured I would check with some ppl not wearing scarlet and gray glasses no troll intended.
We've heard that 'Dontre is wavering' talk ever since he verbally committed. Distance from DeSoto is always listed as a major reason he might be considering opening up his recruitment. But he's not. He's squashed any rumors repeatedly and he's gonna be rocking green and yellow next year. Great pic, BTW.
Got it, I knew we were a player and prolly finished in his top 3 obviously behind the Ducks but after he committed to you guys we didn't hear his name get brought up again until today that's why I asked. Kid would be a beast in our offense but I think he probably fits Chips a little better.
Thanks for the info
Ohio State along with an army of schools have continued to recruit Wilson, especially this past few weeks. I spoke with his father recently, this weekend in fact and he said nothing has changed with his son's commitment to Oregon. Obviously everyone is using the Chip Kelly to NFL speculation to get in the door.

+1 to Huburt for a quality avatar however.
Thanks, I really appreciate you taking the time to respond. From what I can remember his Father always seemed to favor the Ducks when OSU was still in the hunt and It seemed like he almost didn't want his son to visit OSU. The only reason I brought this up is the staff at Bucknuts and Steve brought it up today. Fallowing recruiting you realize most of these rumors have no legs but I wanted to check with you guys just encase it did / does.
Also I hope you dont mind me bringing this information back to my board.
I heard that Urban wants Chip to take over OC duties. Coach em up a lil before he heads off on his next campaign to change football, lol.
He was quoted recently saying "I've wanted to be a Duck since 7th grade"...I don't think he's wavering or will waver.
And also "he's like a father to me" talking about Coach Campbell.
I never said the rumor had any legs but wanted to see what you guys were hearing. When ever you hear you might have a shot at a kid like Wilson you cant help but be excited especially since we currently dont have a player with his skill set on the roster so hypothetically it could fill a big need. Unfortunately from what you guys have told me it looks like its a long shot at best unless something happened in the last 48 hours again thanks for the info.
Here is a really good interview that he did on Friday talking about the Ducks.
He sure seems really excited to be a Duck to me. Hopefully nothing changes!
Again guys thanks for the info, I will be sure to pass along what I hear although it sounds like it wont be good news for me. Steve the Midwest recruiting analyst for 247 sports hinted he might have a story on Wilson that he would post in the near future.
Also on a side note I went to a Ducks game a couple years ago and I couldn't believe how loud that place got.
I haven't ever heard any rumors of wavering since joining, but what I do know is that it seems pretty apparent (knock on wood) that dontre is a firm commit for the ducks. He consistently tweets players on the team and even has held conversations with Lamichael James about coming to the UO. He seems pretty excited to be apart of our system and we are more than happy to have him. The kid is going to be a monster for us.. Besides that.. He is a PERFECT fit for us.
heres a tweet from him on Nov. 3rd

Just addressing a circulating rumor, if I didn't do it now it picks up steam and then a question is eventually asked.
Huburt came on the Oregon board as an Ohio State fan to ask, and did so respectfully, so I have no issue responding to his question.
All i can really say is just.... Nice....
When De'Anthony Thomas first came here a lot of people wanted to compare him to Percy Harvin from Florida. I always thought that comparison was a little bit inaccurate. De'Anthony is a unique player more similar to Warrick Dunn than anyone else that comes to mind immediately. Dontre Wilson on the other hand.... reminds me a lot of Percy Harvin. He's going to be absolutely filthy when he comes to Oregon.
@DuckFBNews: @A_Jude Thx Adam I was with Dontre on Saturday after the game, he's certainly not thinking about OSU. Coach Campbell was also at the game

Well I don't think I have ever seen a rumor squashed like that.
good luck against KSU.
Also if you have any OSU questions feel free to shoot. I definitely took up a good amount of your time.
You weren't alone regarding the Wilson news..
Hey guys again I come in peace, just wanted to know what you guys are hearing besides the 50/50 news? I still think Organ leads as I believe his dad favors you guys. This whole situation seems odd to me, last month you guys provided a lot of information that made it seem he was rock solid even if Chip left. What changed ?
