Not that I want CK to leave, I would love for him to be an Oregon lifer: But how long do you guys think Helfrich and Frost stay as assistants if Kelly remains as HC. I know the staff has years of continuity, but these 2 seem like they are climbing the coaching ladder and will both eventually be HC's somewhere. I would expect Helfrich to be a HC within 2 years. Hopefully, CK stays at Oregon and Helfrich goes on to dominate somewhere in the sec while jeopardizing the safety of all the players down there with the uptempo spread.

^^^THIS^^^^^ Come on people, you are really going to believe this? My friends' daughter's teacher once got a letter from Chip Kelly stating he would coach at Oregon until 2016.
Win The Day
Interesting but perplexing post. Regarding Helf & Frost, and should throw Azz into the equation only wild ass guesses on our part.LOL! For instance, if he leaves this year could take Frost or Azz and Helf appointed HC. But Helf could offer Frost OC position and he stay's. Perhaps Aliotti retires when Chip leaves and Helf offers Azz the DC position. The permuations are staggering and confusing. Chip has my full support and whatever works out best for him is O.K. with me. Ducks will be fine whether he is here or their (wherever their is). I am a BIG fan of Chip and a Duck lifer! Hope he decides to spend the rest of his coaching career here but wishful thinking on my part.
Oregon is home for Helf. Would have to be a very, very good offer for him to leave. Think he waits out Chips departure for his dream promotion.

Wish I could believe it. Part of it makes sense. But what offer would be the right one??
He commented again and hinted it was Nick Aliotti who told him... Even if Chip said it, it sounds like double talk. My heart is here, unless I get an offer I can't refuse. I'm not pursuing jobs, but I'm listening... Yadayadayada.
Well, actually many assistant coaches do ... been with zillions of them (mostly basketball), on these sorts of deals, and many of them are not "on guard," in casual / informal one-on-one's, such as these and they can sometimes talk pretty openly, thinking the information is going nowhere.
lol ... NA is exactly the kind of coach who is pretty loosey goosey with Joe Six Pack ... Nick doesn't big time anyone. Loves people ... and is secure enough in his own skin to be open with a cabbie ... I could definitely see it ... (By the way, if you don't like Nick Aliotti, you just don't like human beings)
