Both want to be Ducks. I think everyone is pretty certain of that.
But we're all wondering, "why haven't they committed yet?"
That's a good question. Yes, they could be silents, but it doesn't sound like it, especially in Ausherman's case.
I suspect that neither is allowed to commit yet because coaches are waiting on other players.
Poutasi and Brostek are in the mix, and coaches want at least one OL. That's a priority.
And of course Shaq and the two WRs, Addison and Allen.
With Armstead, there are 19 commits to date. That means there are max 6 commits left, but I for one doubt that the coaches want to sign so many. My guess is they will only accept 4 or 5 commits.
Since OL and WR and Shaq are the priorities, I wonder if the coaches are waiting on those guys before they officially extend offers to Harper and Ausherman.

There is no reason that the coaches would "save" a scholarship and not sign Ausherman. They need to find a replacement for J Rice after this season. So why would you not offer a really good punter now, instead wait a recruiting class, and try to use the same scholarship that you "saved" on a punter? You wouldn't, because it is illogical.
