Not sure he will be able to give Dontre his full attention this weekend
Hm, something that happened 3 years ago. I dont get the relevance?
umm, he's one of their main recruiters. I think the original poster is saying that this breaking news about his personal life might distract him from his recruiting duties.
At least, that was my take as I thought it was very obvious.
Yea, I get that. But its not exacty breaking news. It says he admitted to it and was disciplined for it 3 years ago.
They just forced their women's track coach to resign because of a 10 year old affair. This is sounding a little hypocritical.
Bev Kearney, Texas's longtime women's track and field coach, resigned after admitting to an affair with an athlete 10 years ago.
Its all over twitter tonight. This could be one reason they made a statement on it:
So, Texas fires an African-American, disabled, head coach for the same thing that they did not fire Applewhite for..
Kinda what that article was implying.
It's just an indication of his character. Slice it anyway you want this isn't happening at Oregon. It's not going to cause their class to fall apart, but if you have major ground to make up on Oregon and you've used your new play caller to lead the pitch, this can't help.
Ah, makes much more sense in that context.
Firing a disabled African-American is like punching Jesus in the mouth. How dare they!
Thanks for the link Tmiller.
This story reflects very poorly on Texas Football and their coaching staff. I felt that way even before reading the story about the track and field coach. After reading it... why am I not surprised that such a double standard would exist at Texas? I'm sure their coaches speak to no end about the family atmosphere at Texas when they recruit... but actions speak louder than words.
Discrimination is a very serious problem. I know a lot of people feel awkward about it and want to make jokes to lighten up the issue... but its a pretty serious thing. The statement issued by Texas has lawsuit damage control written all over it. LetMeSeeYourO... I know you didn't mean it to come across this way but I think your joke is in poor taste.
Go Ducks! Stoked we're back in the mix for Aaron "Baby Blake" Gordon!

This is all pretty messed up. All sports allegiances aside, these kind of stories really piss me off.
I didn't see a whole lot of protagonists in there, but to the ut; shame on you.
This story will never hit Wilson's ears through the barrage of effusive talk from Mack and Applewhite about Oregon sanctions and how filthy the Ducks' program is. It's a non-story.
It's all over twitter and in USA today - you bet he will hear and so will his Dad..
Enjoy Life, it has an expiration date.
New meaning to "Hook em horns"
I wonder if this is related to their Board of Regents holding a special session (call) on Sunday. I'd imagine that there is a big ole lawsuit making it's way down the pipeline from Bev Kearney. Just a thought.
Kearney basically got fired while Applewhite gets a promotion, hmm, you think someone is pis__d off?
Probae esti in segetem sunt deteriorem datae fruges, tamen ipsae suaptae enitent
That was with her own player
"Release Me Cuhhhhhhhh"
On of espn, twitter, Mack Brown did not invent the internet...that was Al Gore. He's gonna hear about before he leaves campus.
If somehow Chip Kelly leaked this story, I think I might put his picture on the mantle.
I can't believe i'm defending UT but, I think there is a huge difference between a HEAD COACH having a short or long term relationship with YOUR own player than an assistant having a one night stand with a random student on a bowl trip.
Maybe its just me but it seems like Kerney is trying to claim that she had no idea that having a relationship with one of her players was against school policy.
If it were to come out that the girl in the applewhite case was on the support staff for the team then it would make it closer to this situation. It is still far worse for a head coach and a player though.
From what I read major had a one night fling, at the fiesta bowl not at ut ,the track coach carried on a relationship, bit of a diff I think
One thing that should be mentioned is that Major's wife was 9 months pregnant when this happened.
Either way you look at it, it's pretty messed up. I can see this being a PR disaster if UT doesn't suspend him or dock him pay.
Wow, its going be tough for Campbell to show himself as a better role model than that
