of Alabama, Oregon, and Texas,
Alabama hosted several prospects for the first spring practice on Saturday, including this New Orleans DB, who walked away with an offer and the Crimson Tide in his top group.
827. What are our chances here?
1 out of 3?
I think it's a great sign that we are in his top 3, but its still early.
The publicity can't hurt either-the more people who hear us mentioned with Alabama, Texas and the like can only help our recruiting efforts.

it sounds like Oregon is in the lead.... but of course long ways to go he's starting to attract big programs....
He's visiting UO on April 13th I believe. Hopefully he comes away sold and wanting to be a Duck. From what I've gathered it is going to be a Bama vs Duck battle and if Bama gives him a real offer it maybe tough to pull him away from the Tide. A good visit in Eugene could propel us into the lead. He already has over 20 offers so I think he's most likely truly down to these three teams. We shall see.
KOD if I remember right mom has some say in this one. Someone gotta put some charm on her during visit, lol.

I no longer feel he will be one of our April commits. this top_3 list and the more recent top 12 is a sign of opening things up.
A "soft" offer, wtf?
"Soft" offer means "we'll keep you on the back burner just in case we whiff on all of our top DB targets." He'll have a "soft" offer until next January. Hopefully McGraw sees through that BS and realizes we hold him in high regard and have him at the top of the board for CB. And our offer is "hard."
Starting to attract? Us in the lead? Long ways to go is a great answer. Hopefully some of the other 32 in front as of now are closer and as talented. I wouldn't bet all the water in the pond on him.
I think it sounds like we are in the lead and could easily get a commit from him. But this could end up being a Rodrick Byers situation where the dream school close to home sweeps in after missing out on their preferred choice and gets our guy in the end. Even if McGraw commits to us, I think Bama will be the team to beat until the loi is signed and faxed.
^ This. Almost rather have him not commit til January then end up with a situation like Byers or even Dontre (i know it was very different) but getting it strung out all year is annoying.
