Well, it may buy us one more year at least...
Agree with this line of thinking.
This may be as important as any development to this point. That may have been a opportunity that Kelly couldn't have turned down.
Yup, I am going to be so happy if Chip decides to stay. Even if it is for only one more year. For those of you who want the stability Helfrich brings, you can also look at it from a different angle. This would be another year for Helfrich to become a better coach, and every year he has under Chip will better prepare him for the job. I also don't think he's going to jump at any opportunity. He has said many times that he hopes Chip stays a long time and Helfrich knows he has a good thing going for him.
Exactly. I would gladly take Chip back even if it is for only one more year and it comes with uncertainty that damages our recruiting efforts. I would trade a year of uncertainty and a down recruiting class for a chance at a national title any day.
Chip coming back next year takes us from having a chance to win, to being perhaps the favorites to win. I say there is no downside to Chip staying no matter how long it lasts.
CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora says it's looking more and more like Kelly will be returning to Oregon. Though cautions in a following Tweet that until Kelly informs the school and his players, anything remains possible.

Without a signed nfl contract... I assume.
Absolutely! Well said. Anyone who thinks otherwise has lost perspective. At least in my opinion of course.
ESPN reporting that Cleveland will not hire Chip Kelly.
Cleveland Browns owner Jimmy Haslam III and team executives are headed back to Cleveland from Arizona and will start their coaching search over again without Oregon coach Chip Kelly in the mix, sources told ESPN senior NFL analyst Chris Mortensen.
Browns beat writer Mary Kay Cabot says that Browns were never 100% that Kelly wanted to leave Oregon.
Did he fire his source?
Sounds like momentum is gaining on Kelly staying at Oregon from CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora
If he stays than recruiting is about to get interesting.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reporting that Kelly will remain at Oregon. Nothing yet confirmed from Kelly or the U of O.
Mind if I join you for one?
