I just had a Hop Henge Experimental IPA (Deschutes) If you never have, 10.6% will treat you right!
Had that one when I went to their pub in PDX
"White man you just starting to get the blues" - Rags and Bones, Nomeansno
Anyone know any good beer joints in Vegas?! Breweries/brewpubs/etc. . .
Had dinner at the new Gilgamesh public house in Salem.
I had the Mamba and a Cranberry Saison but the best item of the night was the pulled pork sandwich.
They roasted a whole pig on a spit, pulled it and smothered it with a homemade cranberry saison barbecue sauce on a ciabatta roll. Mmm!
What's DT drinking on Christmas Day?
I picked up another bottle of Odin's Tipple and am definitely not regretting it. If Guinness is drinking a regular diner cup of joe, this is like drinking a perfectly pulled espresso.
I know a couple people have commented on Cascade's Sang Noir. He has it in a tie as best sour in the Pacific Northwest.
Best of The Northwest 2012: The Fools Greatest Brews!
A couple of bottles of Ninkasi's Oatmeal Stout after an awesome x-mas dinner with friends and family......no better way to spend a day! Merry Christmas to all of my Duck brethren.
Burnside Brewing ... Swet Heat. Pretty interesting taste.
Love that stuff. Nice (not too sweet) apricot flavor in the front end, followed by a satisfying amount of chile. Good stuff for sure.
On to the next step as a beer drinker. Boxing day purchase was my first homebrew kit. All-grain 1-gallon kit good way to start off I think. Drinking the Duvel right now.

Sister and kids are over, chaos has ensued. Drinking Hop Stoopid by Lagunitas
At 10.3 ALC by volume this unique rye beer has serious whiskey notes and a kick to go along with it. Very tasty.
Double D blonde ale from Hop Valley for last call at 7 Feathers might not have been a smart choice.
Shared a bottle of Old Lompoc Monster Mash Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Porter last night. Not bad.
Evil Twin Disco Beer (Imperial IPA aged in chardonnay wine barrels)
Evil Twin Soft Dookie (Vanilla Imperial Stout)
Nogne O Imperial Brown Ale
I decided to go back to the very first post on this thread and try this beer for myself.
Thanks Justin. I agree it's delicious.
I'm thinking I might try to go thru this entire thread and try every beer posted during the coming year. I know half of the posts are from me anyway.lol
Happy New Year everybody!!
Drinking a Unibroue La Fin du Monde

Hey Mitchski.... I'm heading to Vegas for the Pac 12 tourney in March.... I'm currently researching Vegas Breweries/Brewpubs now... I'll be glad to share. I'm going with a WSU Coug buddy, and he knows all of the breweries down there. He said there are a couple of new ones that he wants to his on this trip, too. He's not yet let me know what those are, but we'll be visiting them for sure.
Here are a few of his favorites that I know of so far:
Boulder Dam Brewing
Big Dog's Draft House
Looking forward to combining Pub Crawling and Brewery visits with Duck hoops in Vegas!
Keystone in a can...warm and shaken....while dreaming about Mickens transferring to UO (there is still time!)
"Semi-local" brewery planning to release a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout next month, which is definitely a style hard to come by in this part of the country. Good trend for beer in the Prairies. The head brewer got he's start in Regina but moved to Winnipeg to open the brewery. Eagerly awaiting it.
Their saison will be rereleased as well around the same time.
Drinking a La Chouffe w/ supper of sausage, perogies, and sauerkraut. Big enough to stand up to all those strong flavors.
Drinking Gulden Draak and Ruckus Hoptimus Prime (very Dogfish Head 90)
Drinking Delirium Tremens, and getting A LOT of Unibroue La Fin du Monde. Which definitely isn't a bad thing.
I must admit, I've been a bit of a beer slut of late. I've been drinking many of the crappy beers out there; PBR, Miller High Life, Busch.
I did have an epic dIPA by Green Flash called Pallet Wrecker last weekend. Very tasty.
I went to a bottle share this past Saturday and it was all rare beers ( not found in Portland) and beers aged over 1 year. It was awesome. There was a 2010 and 2011 of Pappy Dark from Block 15. A couple of Cigar City beers from Tampa. A couple of great bourbon barrel aged imperial stuts from Schlafly Brewing out of St. Louis. One was a 2008 and the other a 2011. The best beer was a home brew. It was a honey rye Belgian with brettomyeces. It was outstanding. Best new beer I've had in a long time.
