If Oregon is too far, why isn't Ohio?
Enjoy Life, it has an expiration date.
Hes willing to wait for an offer from Ohio State if a couple options don't work out? That does not make a lot of sense to me.
It'll be interesting to see what transpires between Carrington, Oregon, and Ohio State between now and the date of his official visit to tOSU. An impressive in-home visit with Carrington from the Oregon coaches could seal things up before he even heads to Columbus...I think coming out of that, it'll be very telling as to how determined Carrington is to look and explore.
This may be a defining moment for Helf. This is a high stakes game of poker between Meyer and Helf. Meyer has yet to offer, leaving cards unseen. Will Helf show all his. I don't think so. Hope DC shows some maturity here and chooses his team over himself.
tOSU doesn't even have a QB to throw him a football. Braxton Miller lmao. How about catching passes from a highly possible Heisman winner in Marcus Mariota. Best freshman Pac 12 QB in decades. Are you kidding me DC. Be smart here kid.
Too bad kids don't think of things that way....if I was a WR I'd jump on that right away. lol
Defining moment? I think it's a little early for that, but it will be a very important visit for him and this coaching staff this cycle nonetheless...
Not sure I'm board with the "choosing team over self" thing either. Every recruit should be making the best decision for himself...why make it for any other reason? Fans for one school or another certainly will have strong reactions either way, but that's recruiting. Carrington's doing what he feel is best for him and either Oregon, Ohio State, some other school will be the benefactor of that. A little rough to label this as a potential indictment of his maturity level.
You do realize Braxton's name will be mentioned heavily with the Heisman next year too, right? Homer post.
I understand your points. I deal with these type issues with my son occasionally. Some day, when you have a teenager, you may understand better where I and others are coming from and why we are fairly firm in our convictions (sorry, don't mean to come off like a lecture, it may be generational).
I've met DC and talked with him. He has been all Duck for months and months. The promotion of Helf, and retention of the offensive staff, provides continuity and consistency with the program that DC chose to be a part of. I do not think he has any intention of attending OSU, none whatsoever, or Arizona for that matter. He can choose to go visit OSU, enjoy the trip, and put a level of uncertainty into the recruiting Helf's recruiting efforts, which leads to additional uncertainty among other recruits. Or, he can stick with his commitment, provide support for Helf and the team, so they may focus their efforts on securing the balance of the class.
I'm hopeful that after his meeting with the Magnificent 7, he will not want to visit OSU.

Absolutely agree with this. That is part of the, "more," that Oregon has to offer. Miller is a good player and will get Heisman pub as well. But he is no where near Mariota as a passer. If I'm a receiver of Carrington's caliber with a great ability to go get the deep ball then: Mariota >>>> Miller.
Duck Lefty Miller is a run first QB. If I was a WR I'd consider the pros and cons of who's throwing me the ball. Mariota is clearly a better passer than Miller. Miller is another C Klein imo. I'm sure Millers name will be in conversations but not as high as Mariota, Manziel, or T Boyd. Just my opinion. Not being a homer by any means.
Condescending to someone who knows 100x more than you ever will about recruiting just makes you look like a gigantic ass. And trust me, I know a thing or 2 about giant asses, just ask my girlfriend.
