Why'd I get a downvote, lol..................
I can understand everyone's point of view. This is frustrating. With all the success on the field, you'd think that would translate to a different recruiting process but this staff does things differently. Nothing you or I can do about it. All I know is that I'll trust the coaches til February. Then I'll let my guts spill out if this trend proves accurate.
Something to consider, Redfield seemed interested in playing WR. Devon Allen visited and then Redfield was told that he would not be offered a visit. Could these two things be related?
I'm not so frustrated about Redfield. There's probably a legit reason, either the coaches cooled, or Redfield cooled.
Otherwise, I'm really concerned (although that may not be the right word because I don't really care that much) about the OL and LB positions. They really just need warm bodies to develop, otherwise they're not gonna have numbers to get through a season after this year, and here they are going after their 4th and 5th options with late offers at LB, and not really recruiting anybody at OL.
Have you not been reading all the threads? We're still in it with Kalambayi, Mitchell, Trey Johnson, Torodney Prevot(just read he's going to visit in Januraray), Joe Walker, Zach Issah, Zach Cunningham, Myles Jack, etc, etc... Now will we get the top targets? Maybe not, but there's still a chance. The staff are on a recruiting rampage right now.
As far as OL. Sure we lost Redmond, but we just offered a Cal commit, Cameron Hunt so that could fair well for us. Plus I just read on rivals that Thomas Oser said himself that Oregon is in the lead right now and JD Hinnant was told he'll be fine to play football in the future and where alot of schools moved on from him after his accident, Oregon has kept in contact.
Also, I would be willing to bet more OL and LB targets come on the radar soon. We only really need one more OLmen, maybe two so we'll be okay there and it would be ideal to pull at least two more LB's and I'd be willing to say we strike gold with at least one top LB target and then maybe a PSA a little further down the board. Or maybe we get Mitchell, Kalambayi, Cunningham and Prevot and we'll be deadly. Lol. We'll have plenty of warm bodies.
Holy snap this board is a trainwreck
Didn't McQuay also have some interest in playing offense?
For sure, things could turn out fine at those positions. I'm only going by what I see, which is a severe lack of depth at LB starting next year, and OL the year after. I didn't realize they were still in on all those guys, I thought most of them had moved on to considering other schools?
