So we hearing that were taking three linebackers in this class... So what if he Lock up three of our linebackers Early in the process. of 4* Devante Downs, 4* Joey Alfieri, and 4* Jordan Hoiem, then we get A lot of interest from...5* Raekwon McMillan, 5* Kain Daub, 4* Zach Whitley, 4* Vincent Jackson, 4* Marquis Ware, 4* Clifton Garrett, 4* Bryson Allen-Williams, 4* Dwight Williams, I'm only asking because this is a very likely possibility that this could happen. what you think the coaching staff will do take one or two more linebackers?
#1 LB over on ESPN Dwight Williams is wanting an offer. He says the staff change doesn't bother him because the tenure of most. He also says the impact of the offer would be greater if it came sooner than later.
He has Cal,toshington,Nebraska and Ole Miss offers.
why did I get down votes for getting Peoples opinion on the subject? oh boy...

I didn't dv you, but I think people maybe dv you because you asked a question you probably know the answer to. The staff will want to take a certain amount of LB's next cycle. My guess is about 3-4. If they offer a kid, especially early, then they want them regardless if a 5 star wants to commit later in the process. If the staff got commitments from the first group of LB's you mentioned I think they would most likely shut down the recruitment of that position.
Maybe they would take an extra LB if they felt he could be a true game changer. The reality is Raekwon McMillan or Kain Daub will not be coming to Oregon. That I can almost guarantee. They are about as likely of becoming Ducks as Nkemdiche was. As for the LB's we take we'll have to wait and see. I'm sure they will make some offers to kids they like and it will be a first come basis.
They're definitely not going to pull an SC and pull a commitments schollie and they're not going to take seven LB's because a high 4* or 5* kid wants to commit late in the process. I think you probably knew this already and you probably got dv because people felt you didn't need to start a thread asking questions you knew the answers to.
I'll make it easy for you.
McMillan-Ohio St or UGA
Daub-Bama or LSU
Garrett-Notre Dame, OSU, Michigan
I'm really hoping we take 4 LB's and Jamardre Cobb is the fourth and then we take Ware as an ATH.
BOOM!!! That just happened!!!
ok can thank you for Breakdown.... +1 for you. can I ask you why you think we have no Chance at...McMillan or Daub I read that Daub Has this in his early top five.... And we will get a serious look from him....?
Well, for McMillan he has listed a top 5 and we aren't in it and he has also made it pretty clear Ohio St is his leader and he's already visited Columbus and he's actually been recruiting kids to join him. If he doesn't end up at OSU, I think he goes with the home state school and goes to UGA.
As for Daub, it's another Nkemdiche scenario. Nkemdiche had us in his top 5 for a long time, but in all reality we were just a sexy name to throw in the mix and I bet we were never even in a true option for him. Same with Daub. He's a 5 star LB from Florida. Kids like him do not leave the SEC. It's that simple.
He's already commited to LSU and decommited. He'll be staying in the south even if he continues to say we're in his top 5 and he wants to visit. I doubt he even ends up visiting. If I were you I'd focus on the Cali kids because they are very much more realistic and just as talented.
For lack of a better term: Oregon slow plays. At this time the process a recruit is high on every elite school. Oregon will do their homework and the sincere interest will be pursued.
There are a couple of schollies left unfilled for can't miss talent. But from your list (other than the three locals you mentioned), I only expect Marquis Ware, Dwight Williams and possibly one other to pursue their interest.
USC is like a german car, every piece that breaks is of the highest quality.
I feel like you're sleeping on Alfieri. I know the in-state competition isn't stellar but he can really play. Would be a great Mike for us. The only way he ends up at uw or osu is if UO or Stanford don't offer, which I suspect both eventually will.
With Hoiem, he is line a mirror image of Prevot. I'm curious to see if he gets an offer since we just got a player so similar.
Still, add Michael Lazarus as another option and the possibilities at LB are pretty exciting this year.
According to a tweet from Lazarus a month ago, he is cousins with Derick Calhoun, Joe Mixon, Sulaiman Hameed.
Based on the 2014 mega board pinned on top they all have Oregon interest.

I don't think he's underselling Alfieri, it's just going to be tough with both of his parents being Beavers.
This^^^ I think Alliferi is talented, but like MBV said his folks are Beavers and from what I've gathered he grew up a Beav fan. Also, in most of the recent articles I've seen on him he never mentions Oregon. Maybe an offer would change that, but I just see him leaning towards little brother.
Agree with your thoughts on this. My guess is that if they get 3 commits they may hold out one schollie for, as you called it, "a game changer". That scholarship could be used for LB or another position.
