Devon Kennard could be out for the year...

  • I'm not going to celebrate an injury, but I am not going to snap my fingers and wish we could play entirely uninjured opponents, either.

I'll take a win over an injured opponent over a loss to a full-strength one. As Caravaggio pointed out: specifics fade, and injuries happen.

    Ed O

  • Really too bad for them. Kennard is a stud and they are thin on the line.

Them's the breaks for football sometime. Hope both teams make it to Nov. 3rd relatively injury-free from here on out.

I personally don't care what anyone remembers. I think this years duck team can beat USC at full strength, and as a sports fan that is exactly what I'd like to see. There will undoubtably be injuries on both sides, and I will lament them all.

A slight increase in our chance to win is outweighed by how shitty I would feel if I allowed myself to be happy about a kid getting hurt. To each their own.

I like you. Take this boquet of parenthesis. (((((())))))

    die yankees die

  • Ya that sucks for DK and I agree I don't celebrate injuries either and when we beat SC I want no excuses from them, I would much rather beat a team at full strength than beating a depleted/excuse filled one.

Like the excuses from the Oregon fan on this post saying the only reason USC beat you last year was because you were missing starters? Those type of excuses? Injuries happen to every team every year and if you can't win because of them then you aren't an elite team with depth. Nov 4th is going to be special regardless who is healthy and who is hurt and I hope either side doesn't make excuses regardless of the outcome. FIGHT On!

Agreed. Let's beat them up one side and down another....but not because of injuries.

''Just win Baby '' well we want to beat you at full strength , so there won't be any excuses at the end of the game ,we will be JUST fine contrary to popular beliefs we will be fine on the D-Line. it's our RB pos.where there were depth issues the talking heads at ESPiN are clueless as usual. we will throw in a JC transfer Morgan Breslin
and Greg Townsend Jr. red shirt freshmen check THEM out if u like just need the experience which they will have by d-day

Thanks for your insightful post. I was completely unaware that Arm Armstead was no longer on your team. Lol. You obviously missed the point. Move along tiny soldier. Struck a nerve did I? Must be some validity to what I said for you to get your panties in a bunch. Don't you have some players who are going to get their schollies pulled for status quo to talk about? Your staff is pretty loyal to their kids. Got to get your five stars though right? Go back to the pond rookie.

Psssttt....I wasn't talking about Mondos schollie getting pulled btw. Lane and company already f@#&$# him over. That's old news. I was refering to Kennard getting his schollie pulled, but that obviously went right over your head. Pay attention Troyboy. Tighten it up slick. And yes, I can say "clueless." You most certainly are. Lol.

    Your original post;
"Can you say Armond Armstead? Lane will probably pull the poor kids schollie and that's why coach O contacted Nkemdiche. They'll have an extra schollie for him. Lol"

Wow, your argument is that Lane pulls scholies right? So what else are we supposed to think when you lead off with the question about AA? Seemed pretty clear that you mistakenly thought Kiff pulled AA's scholie. How exactly did Lane and company f@#&$# him over anyway? Enlighten us with your facts...

    SCRower

  • Wow...you are starting your 4* inexperienced talent. Ours is sitting deep on the depth chart. Armstead and Ebert will rotate in and make solid contributions but we will in no way rely on them; they will be #7 and #8 on the DL rotation unless they merit something better.

If Barner happens to go down I think DAT will be just fine putting up outrageous numbers on you guys. I hope you don't have your sights set too high on the national championship. You have to make it through Nov 3rd first. Best of luck to you.

Lil duckie or Donald Duck which ever u prefer, u are aware that DAT aka FLAVOR -FLAV is 150lbs soak and wet right ? now with that being said do u really think he can carry the work load throughout the year if KB goes down to injury huh? he is from So.Cal as u know u stole him remember ? and we know he has had a history of injuries and tweaks throughout H.S. etc.,which is why we wanted to play him at DB/ST which is also why CCK plays him as a hybrid RB/WR and not as an everydown RB. .so keep it real and don't forget your only existence in the eyes of others is because of Big Brother and not your tradition or your highlighter uniforms it's because of well u know
neednI say it ''We Are SC '' and we are the standard barrier for this conference and the flag carrier we represent when on the Big stage .so don't get it twisted and show some respect to a 11 time CFB Champion ,and before you respond with how many u have won oh wait,,,, you have'nt . so do me a favor return the 12-0 T-Shirts back to the book store for a refund and try again lil duckie because your quack is wack!! to the rest of the duckies

If Barner goes out, it will be a problem. However, it won't be a catastrophe. Oregon finally has a two deep of WRs that are good WRs (this hasn't been the case since we've had CK with an exodus of WR talent in Gaines, Jackson, Pflugrad, et al). Oregon also has qbs that are much better passers than DT (the latter was very good decision maker though).

Oregon has Huff whom rushed for 500 yards his freshman year and we will have D'Anthony Thomas in the tazer role. The qbs will take more touches this year, especially since we will have a viable back up. We will go three deep in that tazer role with Addison and Lowe behind De'Anthony.

Oregon is going to have a much stronger passing game, more threat in the read zone with the qb and will spread the touches around. The beat on the street is that Bralon Addison is ready to ball out a la Huff and DAT did as true frosh. Byron Marshall, the best RB on the west coast last year, will give us garbage touches.

Barner won't need more than 15 touches a game.

Are you of the opinion Oregon will make it to Nov injury free?

If Barner alone goes down between now and then, your 'fast break offense' may not resemble what you've recently seen, due to being run by inexperienced players.

I'm trying to remember how many guys on the Ducks were high school running backs. Like Barner I'm sure if they feel they can't get it done with the guys they have they can train someone to fill in. It's also quite possible the best high school RB on the west coast last year could play as a freshman. DAT is good enough to take the bulk of the carries and slide Addison into his role. The options over here are pretty solid. I don't think Barner going down is going to be the end.

Barner will get more than 15 touches a game I think. Likely no more than 20 though.

If Bennett starts he'll run quite a bit, as will Mariota, to a slightly lesser extent than Bennett. DAT, Marshall, Addison and hopefully Huff can all get carries too.

150lbs is so far off I'm not sure how someone who's made it past middle school could have come up with a number that low. Some of DATs best carries have been up the middle. During PAC 12 media days Kelly said they had James and Barner so there was no need to put that kind of pressure on a freshman. Kelly is going to use DAT where ever he feels he can exploit a defense. Don't be surprise at all to seem his carries significantly increase this year.

No doubt in my mind Huff is capable of stepping and taking carries. Personally I think forde is better than most people think. He's really good at keeping his feet and has pretty good vision. He just doesn't have that break away speed.

  • He didn't use enough caps lock to truly be Maitai. Nor did he make any mention of the NATTY!!! He is kind of a 827, Maitai hybrid, but equally foolish on both accounts. I like how he said they were the "standard barrier". I love the poetic justice in that. Every board has their collection morons. I hope ours don't stray too far from the nest.

Forde will play in every blowout situation as he can handle all the mop-up carries along with Marshall.

There is a difference between winning a Pulitzer, and putting together a coherent, reasonably legible post. When you lack the ability to correctly punctuate, form the semblance of some sort of sentence structure, and consistently mis-spell words, we will all assume your ideas are worthless and inaccurate. It doesn't help that your points are faulty too. Cheers.
