In an up and down basketball game the Oregon Ducks were able to shoot their way out of a bad defensive effort and win 108-97 Sunday afternoon over Iowa and advance in the NIT.

  • Anyone else think maybe Emory will lead the Ducks in scoring next year. I think Artis is going to be a huge help at the point.

Either him or EJ... the improvement from the beginning of the year to now is like night and day. Early on he looked like he didn't even belong in division 1 and then over the past few weeks he has turned into a great scorer and good defender. I am excited about his prospects next season.

    Go Ducks!!!

Emory has steadily improved this year. Today may have been his best game to date. He has to be one of the more athletic guys in the Pac-12. Kid can flat out dunk nasty!

I could see him be one of the top two scorers. I'm kind of thinking that this will be Singler's team next year though. Emory and Singler will probably we the top two.

Yeah I was thinking the same but figured his first full year out of JC and the rate of improvement means if it continues he could be a 15-20 ppg guy next year. Singler is so fundamentally sound. Reminds me if a more athletic Maarty I think both are possible 1st team all PAC level talents.

At least second team. With the loss of Joseph, Sim, and Asholu we will definately need some guys to pick up where they left off. I could definately see Emory being one of the top scorers next year. Hopefully Jeremy Jacobs and Woods continue to improve too.

Thinking back, almost every guy on the team made great strides in their development this year. Asholu, Joseph and Sim are going to be really hard to replace though.

    Jacob is a senior.

Woods I'm sure will continue to improve though.

Don't worry, I get the feeling Artis is going to make us all feel better about the players we lose.

  • I hate to bring this up but does anyone think there is any chance Singler leaves after this year to join his brother in Europe. I am not trying to start any rumor but he has a close knit family, has done really well, will not be an NBA player but can buddy up with his brother on a contract and start making a living. I would hate for it to happen but wondering if anyone has ever even heard this mentioned in official circles?

Woods better get better cause hes only got next year to do it, and with this kid the talents there I just think he needs to work his but off in the off season, the kids huge and should be a double digit rebounder for this team.

  • No way - it would totally ruin his NBA chances.

  • Yeah that is why I said Europe. He has to know he isn't as good as his brother and his brother didn't make the NBA.

Actually Kyle Singler chose to stay in Europe to play. The Pistons wanted him to come back.

He will get his education before he leaves school!

I completely agree, knowing (only a little) what I do about the family.

More importantly, he needs to give the education on the floor tomorrow night. School's in.

Kyle went to Europe because of the lock-out..
