Surprised he doesnt just put 3 Ohio state hats on the table lol. Everyone and their dogs know where hes going.

  • As awesome as it would be....its just not gonna happen. However, if he DOES come here...then my questions about Chip's recruiting tactics would be answered....as the only logical explanation is that he an alien.

  • He didn't visit A&M either so I don't know what the point of even having us and them on there is.

  • These kids are now making a mockery of announcing at these AS games by having hats of several teams they never even tripped to. I know it's fun for them to announce at these games and in this fashion, but at least visit the schools for which you have hats on the table.

Agree. We need a Duck insider to take the Oregon hat off the table before he picks.

Or maybe it should be on the network televising the event and forcing him to have three schools when he only has two legit options....

  • Lol. What a joke!!! I know some say it's good publicity to have a Duck hat on the table, but is it good to have these kids not chose us publicly? I personally would rather us not be on the table and have no chance then be on the table and have no chance. Should we really get excited that we are a runner up? I don't think so.

Same story with James Quick. Even though there was an article on rivals on Quick and he says that him not visiting Oregon wasn't a big deal and that he has built a good relationship with the coaches and that he got all the info about the school and facilities, etc via the inet. And then he said something along the lines thar he has dreamed of coming to Oregon for a long time and blah, blah, blah.

He dreamed of coming to Oregon, but he couldn't find the time to take a free trip? Sounds like hogwash to me. If we somehow pull Mitchell, Quick, LMIII and Folston I will never doubt anything that has to do with Oregon recruiting.

Quite frankly it is a great benefit to have an Oregon hat on the table. These are nationally televised events that many recruits for next year may be watching. When they see top level recruits having us in the top three it plants a seed that "this place must have something that is worth looking at". Would you rather that everyone think that we weren't even in the hunt for these guys? The more PSA's that see our hat are just that many more who may consider UofO.

You have a very valid point. But, I'm not so sure I agree. This may depend a lot on how it is presented by the network. For example, if the network gives Oregon time with highlights for linebackers, etc., then it could be a good thing. If it is just a hat, it could have the opposite effect, i.e., reinforce the idea that Oregon is not worth looking at. (Since MM, JQ, TD, all did not even visit Oregon, yet have Oregon in their final 3-4).

What? MM is under no obligation as an amateur to do anything. So the idea that the network can "force" him to have three hats, five hats, any hats, is questionable.

You really think an 18yr old kid is gonna tell a major network to buzz off when they imply he needs 3 hats?
No, MM is just trying to throw off the media and pick the O!

Still better than Alabama, LSU, USC, Miami, Florida, Michigan, Wisconsin, Texas, Washington and Stanford who weren't worth spending a couple dollars on a hat. This is all about recruits seeing our colors.

  • Not sure why Oregon hasn't moved on. Not trying to be negative but it's painfully obvious that we aren't going to be chosen.
