Elgin Cook dominates Game 1 of NJCAA

Memphis>Oregon>Maryland. Those are my three teams. Memphis since '94. My cousin went there and I visited him and went to a Tigers ball game and have been sold since. Maryland because I grew up watching them and they're the home team and then Oregon for obvious reasons. Wells is an absolute beast. Single handedly beat Duke.

Maryland has a lot of talent, but they don't have a true PG and it killed them this season. They have Roddy Peters(5*, #3 PG in nation) coming in next year so they'll be an NCAA tourney team next year. They will most likely lose the Ukrainian Alex Len to the draft, but he's way overrated IMO. He has a ton of upside, but it will be a few years before he sees the floor in the NBA. He'll be a lottery pick based solely on potential.

Ah interesting. Man just imagine if Wells would've chose UO. They would've actually had someone that can create his own shot and be a go to guy.

Reggie Miller...anybody else attend the exhibition between Indiana and Portland at Mac Court back in 94? Dude was money EVERYWHERE!!

Reggie Miller was a hell of a shooter - and maybe the best *clutch* shooter ever - but I wouldn't describe his form as perfect. He really put that elbow out there when he shot.

I remember watching him play the Ducks when he was at UCLA. During pre-game warmups he went around the circle a couple of times from about 25 - 27 feet out and never missed. Bottom of the net every time. The Ducks won that game and I remember one timeout, near the end of the game, when the band was playing straight across from me and I couldn't even hear them because the crowd was so frickin' loud. I loved Mac Court.

  • You guys are talking about the guys in the NBA with the best shooting form and you've left out Ray Allen and JJ Reddick who might be the top two (Curry is in the mix too).

  • jsaund ... believe me, Dominic Artis is the penultimate gym rat ... don't know about Carter, but would be shocked to hear that he's anything but a very hard worker.

  • Yep ... Reggie Miller, Larry Bird, Ray Allen: Phenomenal shooters!

  • Notably, Cook's coach says that Cook is the best player (and the toughest player) he has ever coached.
