Unfortunately not, the article is 4 years old.

  • A whole lot more of this kind of stuff will be coming out in the next months. Cover ups were a way of life for big time college football.

    No more!

The PSU sanctions were directed at coaches, athletic departments, snoopy janitors and student interns everywhere. They heard the "no cover up" message loud and clear. The NCAA got it right.

Colin Cowherd argued on his Monday show that the NCAA was too harsh and punished innocent PSU ball players. He missed the point.

I heard what Cowherd had to say, along with Musberger, and they were similar to what I have said. The NCAA punishing a school for something completely out of their rule book opens a very slippery slope.

CC is a honk for the Mutts and SC. Contradicts himself a lot too.
What Irony if former Mutt Prez Mark Emmert uses his New Sherriff in Town Mojo on the Pups!

Meanwhile, Pres ED Ray of OS, member of the NCAA Board, returtning from the PSU penalty meetings and announces that the NCAA is going to step up the level of penalties.
    Gulp!

I also hope that there are no similar incidents in UO's closet. Chip's current method of vetting makes me comfortable that recent recruits are less likely to have major character flaws. However, IMO, this has not always been a high priority. As Penn State demonstrated, claims can go back many years, and are more likely to surface at schools nationwide especially if civil suits are won with six or more zeroes in the awards.
