Yes, I extremely dislike the NY yankees. You got me there. We debate sports and I tell them their fans are obnoxious and their teams are the most overrated, overpaid trash in the sport, then go on about salary caps and how my Tigers are the bane of their existence. It's light hearted and FUN. Keyword: rivalries should be fun first.
I like my screen name. I created it 15 years ago. I could have been Ducks48216, but then I'd be lost in the shuffle...
@bearduck--I respect your post...but I don't consider Ohio State a rival. It never even occured to me not to wear oregon gear. I wear suits to work, so on my off days, I'd say a good 1/3 of the time I'm sporting my college apparel. The only time it would occur to me that I might be picking a fight is if I wear my stuff on their campus on gameday (guilty), or wear oregon gear on fuskies campus or in corvallis.

Trust me. I live in Michigan. Vast majority of you are like this(above you, not you)^^. I was neutral until I finally started going to Ohio.
True story: went to Columus to see my favorite band play: Pavement. After the concert, I was walking around downtown with my wife and hitting up various bars and having a genuinely good time. I was wearing my old oregon shirt. Some buckeye students across the street saw me--and this was the year after you guys beat us in the Rose Bowl.
One of them says, "Oregon sucks. WE beat your ass, faggot!"
I smiled and replied, "classy move, buckeye. You always treat teams you beat with such respect?"
he says,
"yeah, yeah. Your girl is an ugly cunt!"
There's a line you don't cross. Buckeyes regularly cross it. Worst fans in football. Worse than fuskies. I may hate fuskies more on principle...but I will always know that the worst fusky is better than most buckeyes. And that's the truth. I have so many examples. And I don't even like arrogant wolverines. But I'm a fan by default thanks to you guys.
In all fairness--I hear Penn St is horrible too...but I haven't ventured that close to State College in a ducks jersey. Cheers, buckeye man. Go corral those horrid fans of yours.

True story, after the 2010 Rose Bowl a band of clearly unemployed Buckeye fans (and by fans, I mean they never even ATTENDED tOSU) called my girlfriend ugly and threw a chainsaw right at my face. Luckily, I was so inspired by Ray Lewis' grace, that I had taken some yoga over the summer. If I hadn't, and wasn't so flexible, I'd be dead. The SUCKeye (rofl) fans then poured an entire beer on my puppy.

when I venture to anyone's home turf on any of our OOC road games and most certainly conference road games.....I wear regular clothes! I don't ever sport any of my colors for the very reason you mention above. For me....it's just common sense especially since I'm not one that generally backs down from controversy. I could always use a good ass kickin' from time to time.....which doesn't happen all that often but I do like the challenge.....fortunately I'm a little older and wiser.....and 100% try to refrain from such activities....
