In looking into Elgin Cook

I went to his dad's wiki page and found this. No bueno Alvin, 14 year olds!! Come on man, nothing like kidnapping kids and underage prostitution... Allegedly. Also saw that Elgin has a half brother who was drafted in the 2nd rd by the Vikings, Tyrell Johnson safety from Arky St
Legal problems
Robertson has had a history of off-court problems, during and after his career. In August 1997, he pled no contest to four misdemeanor charges of abusing a former girlfriend and was sentenced to one year in prison.[12] He also spent a month in jail during the 1990 NBA off-season for beating his then-wife. Robertson was arrested again in San Antonio in January 2007, on a variety of charges, several related to domestic violence.[13]
On February 26, 2010, Robertson was arrested for the alleged sexual assault of a child, trafficking an underage child for purposes of sex and forcing a sexual performance by a child. Authorities claim that Robertson was part of a ring that kidnapped a 14-year-old girl from San Antonio, forced her to have sex with clients and to dance at a Corpus Christi strip club in 2009. The girl escaped her alleged captors, prompting an investigation
Not trying to put anyone on blast or anything but I just saw this and was kind of shocked that no one else had brought it up. My buddy sat next to Elgin and Alvin on his recruiting trip and said that Alvin chatted with him the whole game and seemed like a good guy. Hopefully he's turned things around.

Alvin Robertson was not a good guy regardless is this lateat thing is true. Hopefully Elgin is a good kid and doesn't take after dad off the court.

More than anything, I was just surprised it was never brought up in any articles or anything. Seems like it's the kind of thing that the Media always points out about someone's Pops. I mean, how many articles have you read about Adrian Peterson that didn't talk about his old man doing time? Especially when 14 yr old girls are concerned

My daughter was kidnapped, right off the street, in Vegas, while she was on vacation, at age 19. I have ZERO tolerance for pigs who do these heinous things. Daughter was fortunate to escape, after a couple of weeks of absolute hell! Many young women (and girls) are not so fortunate ...

I can't even fathom the range of emotions you must have felt during and after.
I hope they caught the person. Unfortunately, even if they did, the court system would never be able to satisfy the rage and anger I would feel towards that person, even if it were a state with capital punishment. I guess a person will never know until they are in that situation, and hopefully that doesn't happen to others (and I'm sorry that happened to you and your family).

No, they never caught them ... she was very fortunate / blessed, just to get out of there; she was going to get, very literally, sold and shipped off to either the Middle east or the Far East.
This is a problem that is WAY under-publicized ...

I could see Venoy ending up in Vegas as a pimp ... he has all the attributes ... even his coaches told me that he's a complete PSYCHO ... They hoped to get him surrounded with good kids, which they do have almost all really good kids, and they hoped to mentor him ... it didn't work out ... to understate.
