What's up y'all? New to the site.

Looking to permanently replace ESPN as my go to sports chat page. I hate that website.

What's up? Me? Oh. Well. Everyone on the boards across the major networks knows me as die yankees die. I'm an avid baseball/tigers fan and anti yankees fan. go figure.

Born in John Day, OR. Raised there, graduated UO in 2008 with a degree in biochemsitry. Went to every game in my tenure there. Last game attended was civil war 2007. IT was freezing. I had a huge party at my house the night before and tried to get everyone to go with me. They(8 of my friends) were too drunk/sick to go, so I grabbed their tickets, and left the house. The thing was, I was still drunk myself and forgot my coat. Once at the game, I gave away my student tickets to a bunch of tailgaters who wanted to go. I charged them 0 dollars. Then I watched oregon lose in triple overtime. I was shaking uncontrollably by the end and my lips were blue. This was my last autzen experience.

I then joined the peace corps, met my wife(from new jersey), and moved to michigan after. I live in Ann arbor and have season tickets to the wolverines. It's been an interesting comparison, living in big ten country. My first love is the ducks, though. We made the trip to dallas for the cowboys classic. Awesome times. My wife loves the ducks now almost as much as I do. Anyway.

my real name is ely. Good to be here.

Welcome to DT 'die yankees die'! thumbsup +1

I am from the Roseburg area and born into a Duck family. Graduated High School in 98 and college in 03, got the good old 5 year degree. My job moved me to Nashville, TN 4 years ago so I have been a Duck fan stuck in a SEC world. I battle daily to prove to SEC fans they are not the only conference, so nothing made me happier when I saw the ratings of the NCG game and saw i wasn't the only one who boycotted watching it.

Most recent Duck game for me is I drove to the LSU game in Dallas. Highlight was when a LSU fan refused to get out of my way to park but a slight nudge with the front of my Suburban convinced him to move. Also went to cheer on the Ducks basketball team against Vandy and made sure I got tickets where I would be on T.V. so I could break up some of the gold and black with some quality green/yellow color combinations.

This site has been a great addition to my Duck knowledge and now I check it all day everyday sadly.

Welcome lu11ke, love the Vandy game story!

  • Raised in the big city of curtin oregon, always will be a duck fan. Moved to Montana in the late 90's, to become a police officer. Watch all the games I can. Also a Montana grizzly fan and it is cool to see some Oregon talent end up here. Will continue my membership to Duck Territory. Go Ducks.

  • Not sure I ever introduced myself. I guess now is as good a time as ever (riding the AA announcement high).

I'm a relatively recent duck fan. Started following when I moved to Oregon 6 years ago. Went to UO for grad school, and later taught there, before being hired to teach in Southern Oregon. Attended practices regularly when I was in Eugene, which turned me from fan to fanatic.

I love football, pro and college, but was a basketball player growing up. After college I started boxing, which I still do occasionally. I'm married 3 or 4 years now (I should probably know more precisely), and have my first kid on the way; a future linebacker / tight end at UO (or kicker/punter if mom gets her way).

I was primarily a reader on this site for a while, but have started to be less introverted as of late.

    Go Ducks!

  • Retired Duck...attended during some very lean football years-1970-1975-taught teenagers for 30 years and loved every minute. Live in Santa Rosa which is in the north bay and attend Stanford and Cal games-have my three best friends (all Ducks) within a two hour radius which makes getting together easy. As they say, these are the best of times! I stay mostly in the back ground and lurk-member of educk since they began-this is an excellent site and more up to date. Thanks all and Go Ducks!

  • My name is Mike. I was born in Roseburg, but raised in both Roseburg and Corvallis. With living in Corvallis I started out as a Beaver fan but my senior year in High School I was living down in Roseburg and I started watching more and more Duck games and that year was when they went to the Rose Bowl in 95 against Penn st. From that point on I was hooked.

    About Me:

I am U.S. Navy veteran of 10 years...worked as an Information Systems Technican. I currently hold an associates degree from Umpqua Community college in Digial Systems and I am finishing up my Bachelors in Information Technology and will it completed by next summer. I am father of three beautiful kids. Twin girls (12) and a boy (11). I am currently a widower which is why I left the military but I am getting re-married this September. I currently work in the local mill until I finish my degree.

    Best Duck moment:

Well I have tons. So I'll go with two. My first time going to the Duck game, September 11th, 2005. I was with my Nephew and my Dad. We were on 14th row and around the 40 yd line. I can't remember which section. It was the first game of the year, the year after Harrington against Indiana..Kellen Clemmons first year starting. We lost that game but I remember the excitement, the crowd, the noise. It was a feeling like no other. The fans were giving high fives with strangers, and no one cared if they didn't know you, you had something in common..."Your a Duck Fan". My second one was just recent...I took my kids and my fiance this year to the Pac-12 Championship game and it was a feeling that was completely undescribable. Even my oldest twin (by a minute) who is a Beaver fan was wearing Duck clothing and loved every bit...she even said earlier "Dad, you are turning me into a Duck Fan". I loved it. lol.

I have been new to this site for about four months now. This is my first response. But I really enjoy all the good reporting. Go Ducks.

  • Cannot believe I did not see this thread 3 months ago - but happy to see it now. Always wanted to know who some of the posters are. I believe I may be the second-oldest member here ---- behind "KellyODuck", but ahead of "dkfnintn" (?)

Born in Eugene and lived there until 7th grade. My dad played baseball at UO and was the Alumni Director for several years. He was good friends with both Len Casanova and Steve Belko (basketball coach), and they would often come to our house for dinner, parties, etc. Our house was literally across the street from the campus. Ron Stover (tight end) used to come to our house for dinner periodically, so he became my favorite player. As a kid, I went to every home football and basketball game, track meet and even a few baseball games starting at about age 5 or 6. My grade school was right across the street from the football practice field (and just down the street from Hayward Field) and to get home I would walk between Hayward Field and the football practice fields and then up between the baseball diamond and Mac Court. So during the course of a year, I could watch all of our teams practice.

Moved to Lake Oswego starting in the 7th grade and graduated from LOHS. Decided to go to Northwestern University instead of Oregon (wanted to see some of the rest of the US, but now wish I had stayed home). Worked in high tech sales all my career and moved all over the US. Now retired and living in South Carolina (about 10 miles from Clemson).

I attend any Duck football games that are in the midwest or east - TN, LSU, etc., any bowl game, and try to get to Autzen every other year or so. Can't wait to get my grandkids out to a game at Autzen.

Best moments: Rose Bowl victory this year (I lived to see it - and I was there!). THE PICK!
