JUCO DE has Ducks in top two....

Juco DE Roosevelt Pearson has us and San Diego State in his top two. Don't know if we have offered yet. He had 42 tackles, 9½ for loss, four sacks and two pass breakups.

Saw that too,
"It’s why New Mexico State has joined San Diego State with an offer and why Kansas State and USC joined Oregon and Boise State with interest in the junior college standout."
Interest isn't an offer, but unless the kid is delusional, we wouldn't be in his top two.
Backup plan if we loose Hooper?

6'4" 250-260 (by the time he's on campus for a year) is fine at DE at the college level.

Thoughts?

I thought he did a good job of setting the edge for the D and keeping outside contain. I only watched a couple minutes but there were some plays where he could have tried to go underneath a block, but instead fought across the face of the block, strung the ball carrier out and then made the tackle. He certainly looks like he has the athletic ability to make an impact at Oregon. I wonder if they would look at him more as an OLB than a hand in the dirt DE?

I like him, I agree he could be a SAM or Drop End in our system if we needed him to be but he could also get up to 270 and be a SDE, I would guess he's a backup to Hooper and the other JC guy who I can't remember how to spell his name so I'm not gonna try
