Three freaking years? That's it Chip?
I'm very disappointed. It would have been nice if he could have waited till after loi day. I hope the next coach has some connection to Oregon so they don't use us as a stepping stone like Chip did.

I never thought he would bail after 3 yrs ....... "IF" we end up with ncaa violations due to the lyles saga, im gonna be pissed, because itll be him bailing on something he caused, then leaving it for someone else to deal with...I sure hope he don't leave,,,,especially so close to signing day...bad bad timing

I can't fault the guy for not wanting to deal with NCAA and chasing a dream, but give us 5 years at least, groom Frost or someone, and don't do it a week before NSD.
I also have to say again, thanks for the last three years though.

Do you think he has the tolerance to deal with the egos of NFL players? He'll have a boatload of egos and me guys. Guess we will see how it works. Oregon will have the money from his buyout to hire a good coach. Like I said earlier, I hope the assistants are on the phone to the players and recruits.
One thing Carroll said when he left was that he was tired of babysitting - maybe Chip is there too. Issue is - as a college coach you can really change a kids life, as a pro coach, you just try to win games - don't think there is a lot of character building you can do.

Hypothetically, if you were a huge sports fan, but put football far ahead of the rest, and you loved the niners and the ducks with all your heart, how much would it suck to be you right now? I know it's not about me, but yeah, it sucks. I'm going to bed. See you guys tomorrow; hopefully something changes and tomorrow's hangover is eased.

Offer him, lets say 4mil/yr and a half-mil incentive if he wins the natty...
He's still negotiating. It's not a done deal. He has to give a 15 day notice that he's leaving, and if he goes the ducks get a cool $3.75 milion
Oregon is a top-5. Pay like one. The SEC can go away.
