offer at QB huh? didn't see that coming

Yeah, gotta think they see Hobbs as the next Darryl Hawkins.

Hawkins has been a huge contributor during his time at Oregon, who wouldn't want another guy like that on the team?

Isn't it misleading to say Oregon is a little late to the party for QB's in 2013?
Oregon was looking at QB's early. However, with the youth of MM, BB, JR, and Lockie it seemed like an uphill battle to land any. Top recruits committed elsewhere and Oregon went low profile, focusing on the season. MM emerged as a star and leader. BB chose to leave. Even before BB's decision Oregon was talking with various QB recruits, and BB's departure raised the level of urgency to sign, preferably a JUCO. However, when recruiting talent like McEvoy, it's very competitive for his services. Enter Hobbs.

BB deciding to leave the team created the current "urgent" situation. It is what it is and fortunately there is a viable option with Hobbs.

Also, if the Ducks like to carry 5-6 QB's, and assuming they are successful landing Hobbs, bringing them to 4, why do you think they would not look to sign 2 QB's next year, particularly if there is a lot of talent? Seems like there will be adequate separation between the 2014 recruits and JRod and JLockie and it would create needed competition for the position.

Hobbs has to recognize his current limitations. Possibly he can improve those significantly. If not, he may not be playing QB for Oregon, but another position. End of the day, does he want to compete at the highest level and play where the coaches think he can best help the team, next year and beyond.

Hope he says yes.
