Oregon knows its way to San Jose

In a relative shocker, newly minted Pac-12 Conference Tournament Champion Oregon earns a 12-seed where they will face the 5-seed Oklahoma State Cowboys Thursday in San Jose.

  • Any idea when the game time will be announced?

  • I hope its a late game. Friggen work!!

  • Twelve seed is exactly what they give you when they think you aint s***. Get ready to see some Fighting Ducks, kids. No respect.

  • 12 seed isnt that BAD, Like a Team that just got in by the skin of their Teeth. What did UCLA get a 3 seed, the same Team we beat twice? The NCAA is a JOKE, I suppose Kentucky who really didn't even deserve to get to the Dance got in because they won it all last year.

No word on that yet, JustDuckIt.

  • Oh well the Duck's should go 2-0 against those two Team's if they can play like they just played W/O all the turnover's.

  • For starters, I'm not a fan at all of how the tournament selection committee seeded the tournament, in general. I thought there were a number of very questionable decisions made with regard to seeding with a number of different schools.

As it pertains to Oregon, I think it's a double-edged sword for the Ducks. The 12-seed is a major shocker and facing a very good Oklahoma State team is going to be an enormous challenge in the 1st round...BUT if Oregon gets past the Cowboys, they basically assume the position of a 5-seed and a run to the Sweet 16 is easily within reach. In fact, you could argue that Oklahoma State has the bigger gripe here as the Ducks will almost assuredly have home court advantage Thursday in San Jose.

    Should be an interesting tournament...

OSU definitely has a beef. Not only does Oregon have somewhat of a home court advantage they have a short 2 hour flight and same time zone. Losses to Utah, Stanford, El Paso sealed Oregon's seeding.

What certainly appears to be the case is if the Ducks had lost to Washington or Utah in the Pac 12 tournament they may not have made it into the NCAA tournament.

Time for Altman and Mullens to strengthen their schedule.

  • I must admit to NOT BEING IMPRESSED with the NCAA.

    However, a 12 ALWAYS beats a 5. Let's make history boys!!!

    Happy St. Patty's Day!!!!!!!!!

  • What I do not get is UCLA and AZ getting a 6 seed and we get a 12? Our rep for the PAC12 on the selection committee must live in the south division. Or is looking at both those schools like they have their previous teams and coaches that were their in the 80s.90s (ie Wooden/Olsen)

That said I like our seeding because I am hoping it lights a fire under the team, and come out playing with a chip on their shoulder. I think the win over OSU, but actually watch out for St. Louis. Sr Laden team from what I am hearing.
