Sad to hear that there going there, that talent would be used way better at Oregon. Aggies = no chance in the sec

About three weeks ago, Justin posted that Peter Jinkens was wavering for Texas and has an OV left to use. He has been a verbal commit to Texas since last February, a long time to be sure. But how has Texas done in that time in terms of his recruitment? Are they - just like USC last year - counting a certain stud as a commit but not showing him the attention a highly touted recruit would expect heading into NSD? No way to know, but look at the facts:
1)His list of schools of interest in not relegated to Texas or Big 12 schools. (Florida, Michigan, KState, Iowa)
2) He has played both RB and LB, showing him to be a versatile 'athlete' that Oregon would love to mold.
3) He attends Skyline High School with fellow Ducks recruit Thomas Johnson, who visited two weeks ago.
4) He took an OV to Texas last week but did not commit.

It's only an informed guess, but I wouldn't be shocked of Peter Jinkens found his way to Eugene to see what's up with those Ducks. Thomas Johnson - who by all accounts REALLY enjoyed his trip - in his ear can't hurt either. Get ready Don Pellum, Jinkens just might be in play for Oregon.

Not sure how the weather is down in Eugene but if it's anything like it is in Portland then these kids are going to be a lock! A bit chilly but it's absolutely beautiful up here.

LAST February. Long time ago. Tellin 'ya, if TJ was stoked after his Oregon visit and didn't commit after A&M threw the sink at him it wouln't surprise me if another guy on the same high school team was getting ideas about a last minute visit. Drama is fun. It's like movie. Why not take a secretive jaunt up to Eugene and see what all the fuss is about? Worked for DAT. And you bring up a good point in Cottrell. How heavy was Texas' interest in him leading up to his verbal commitment?
