  • So to clarify the actual tweet says, "Rumor is flying around that there is some not-so-good news for Oregon in the next couple of days". So I guess bad news might be over-selling it.

  • This thread is for us to speculate so don't try to slam people for wondering. I think the worst news that would affect Oregon's depth would have to be Huff transferring. I can't see a player heading to the NFl being such a negative rumor....my guess is it's a transfer. I would be most shocked by Bennett leaving but wouldn't blame him one bit. He is going to be a stud! If you can consider a player leaving as in a verbal commitment then it would be Marshall or Stanford. Not sure if he clarified which one or if he is trying not to be too obvious.

    Okay so now after reading closely I agree with the Dion to the NFL....

  • Thinking about high end recruits that may not be happy about where they are on the depth chart.. Mathis?? Just a guess, but attrition is something that we need to start getting used to, the more 4/5 stars we get.

    It can't be Bennett. He's the guy in 2013 unless Mariota beats him out so I don't know why he'd want to go elsewhere. And Tony seemed to indicate it was a current player, not a recruit. Stanford and Marshall both said recently they're extremely solid to Oregon.

    I know Tony covers football but what are the odds it is another sport???? Basketball maybe? Just speculating of course but again wouldn't be surprised to see Huff leave as well. As awesome as Huff is he has some superstar talent (IMO) behind him on the depth chart. Another guess is that maybe Tra Carson is leaving. He is used to being the man and this news would come shortly after KB announces his return....

  • I can't imagine it's Huff. The guy had over 30 catches with an injured leg and is the only veteran receiver. Bennett makes no sense, he'd have to sit a year and looks like he'll start next year. Dion Jordan I guess could decide to switch but that doesn't seem likely. Mathis transferring would make sense since he's buried on the depth chart with guys as young or younger. Wouldn't be a big loss though I was hoping to see him come into his own eventually. Someone like Clay or Jordan would be the biggest hits.
