Recruiting Rankings Update

  • I plan on posting a rather lengthy "Recruiting Rankings: Top 15 Investigation" article later this evening. I think it'll open up a TON of great discussion and really get people thinking about a lot of different things. The results definitely surprised me and I know they'll be interesting to at least a few people.

    Now that I got that little update out of the way, I want to bring something to everyone's attention. I could go to forum or 247 mods with this, but I'd rather come to all the people on this board. Yesterday, my recruiting rankings thread became something I never meant for it to be. I was simply looking for some information and didn't realize it would ruffle any feathers. Well, fast forward to today and that thread ended up getting me 8 up votes. This is a lot considering I only had like 30 votes total, but I noticed my ranking had actually dropped. Then I went through old threads and realized that SOMEONE had gone through and down-voted things no one will see again simply for the reason of dropping my rating.

    I don't think that's right. In fact, it's so bush league and childish that I can't believe someone older than the age of 4 would do it. If you have a problem with someone, tell 'em to their face like a big boy and work it out like a grown up. Message me. Don't go through all my old posts hitting the downvote button. This is a big boy forum! Someone is angry they've lost the majority approval, but that's not my fault. I wasn't trying to cause any problems.

    Now many of you have supported me privately through messages. I'm hopeful that can become more public now. No one here should stand for others or themselves being blatantly disrespected by someone playing a power card. Actually, it's not even a power card, it's an "I'm gonna go through and downvote all your old posts like a 4-year old" card. When 90% of people support what you bring to this forum, you shouldn't be sitting at 3-stars because someone is on a crusade against you. Straight ridiculous. That's all though. Much love, article out later.

    its rediculous and childish that certain people do that on here, i upvoted you on this one, and the one last night also! i was actually shocked to see someone had down voted you on the one last night WTF! im looking forward to seeing what you are working on! thumbsup

  • Same thing happened to me but I'm 99% sure I know who it is. My number was dropping but all I could see was the upvotes then noticed I was getting down votes on old random comments that weren't bad at all.

  • I should know this, but what does it mean to be up voted or down voted. I notice that being down voted really gets underneath folks skin. Does something happen or not happen if you get so many up or down votes? Just curious.

    The up and down voting doesn't mean a whole lot. I've seen LSU and USC fans with a rating under 20 still be able to spout their mouth off. I prefer the emoticons. biggrin

  • Since UO is not on the 247 current top 25 list, I am posting my usual stuff from my free site. I just got done with the national top 50 composite team ranks. As a Duck, I am trying to withhold emotion and concern. Yeah we start slow but for go from #44 to #50 in the past month is just not much fun. We are in on a lot of guys, big talent guys, but a concern nonetheless.

    The PAC12 as a whole is stinking up too. USC #19 up 1, ASU #23 up 1, Stanford #25 up 3, UW #34 down 4, UCLA #42 up 1, Cal #45 up 5 and Colorado #48 (new to the top 50).

    Hahaha... Kinda agree though. The voting doesn't mean a damn thing and I'm truely surprised how much people get worked up about it. I don't even know (or care) how to check my score.

    Down voting old posts is pointless though, just a waste of time.
