Several Ducks are ready to step up this spring

  • Oregon lost a lot of talent on offense, but several Ducks are ready to step up this spring - College Football - Rivals.com

Oregon has been all about offense during Chip Kelly's three seasons as coach, but there are some questions on that side of the ball this spring. - College Football news

Defeat doesn't finish a man - quit does. A man is not finished when he's defeated. He's finished when he quits. - Richard Nixon

How can anyone who has followed the Ducks make this conclusion? We all know that Kelly refered to James and Barner as numbers 1a and 1b. Dat, Marshall (and any others coming in) will have a look at runningback, but Barner is the horse now that James is gone. I trust what Kelly said about Kenjon Barner.

Next year will really be nothing new for Oregon's offense. Yes, Oregon's offense will be more read option like it was with Masoli, but the difference is that either Bennett or Mariota will be much better at throwing the ball than Jeremiah was. I do agree that with either Bennett or Mariota running the ball more than Thomas did will take some pressure off the runningback position.

I also think this was a very shallow view of the upcoming Duck season and the roster. Things look really bright for the Ducks next season and Kelly should add to his 85% winning season record and 93% conference winning percentage. Only two conference losses in three years is pretty impressive indeed.

    Go Ducks!
