this is gonna sound bad, but I am not going to feel safe about this til after the game saturday. After he puts up 200+ yds and 3 total TDs in the 2nd half and can't transfer and play right away, then I will feel ok

I don't think there is a magic date on the calender, it's just that if he were to withdraw before Saturday, he would be eligible to play in the opener next year. I don't think there is a deadline to be eligible for next season, but I could be wrong. He can play out this year, and next year he would have two good choices, stay and graduate or step down a level for 1 year or both. if he wanted to show his stuff at a BCS school, he could graduate as a jr and transfer immediately for his sr year, or he could go the cam newton route. Whatever sounds like the best option, would pale in comparison to having success at Oregon. I'm glad he decided to play it out.

This is maybe the biggest non-DeAnthony pull of CK's career. Bet yr ass that the two men have an even better understanding of each other after today's events. If I were Kelly, I would respect the player even more so for both wanting the job so thoroughly & being so invested in it; and also for having the balls to handle the decision to stay like the poised, dedicated, generous man Bennett has shown himself to be. If I were Bennett, I would respect the coach for taking the time to show he CARED ABOUT, not just considered or evaluated on a player level, the man named Brian. Of course this is all conjecture, it could have been a food fight with the winner getting his way after a pudding toss, but that shit don't matter because BB is staying!
