The Eve of a possible NC berth is at hand.

  • What are we doing here guys? I mean we are in the best position possible headed into the last game of the season. Beat the Beavers and Oregon plays for a NATTY!!!! Huff was right when he committed last year, that he was bringing Oregon the Natty. Is anybody excited, nervous, too afraid to talk about it and jinx it?

It's Friday, college gameday, the entire nation will watch Oregon tomorrow.

    Who's going?

    Talk it up folks.

  • To ANY and all bay area Duck fans you are 100% invited to come watch the game in Napa, CA. My Brother and I will be up at the crack of dawn, nails down to the nubs, high off of NyQuil (My brother is getting over a cold - don't worry, we'll quarantine him if necessary), and either a glass of wine or a cold brew in hand. If this sounds like your type of shenanigan then by all means let me know; game time is at 12:30 so we'll be more then excited to get some people by earlier. As some of you might know there's a fairly large Duck contingent in Napa, a thank you John Boyett, so it should be a lively atmosphere....
Dirtections if you're interested, just send me a message.

  • It's kind of surreal J. I'm just going to talk from my vantage point, but there is just a quiet calm that has come over me. This is has been a very special season but as the weeks have gone by it's been hard to enjoy them. Just a deep seeded dread that we are teetering on the cusp of greatness and any sort of gust could blow us off has been emotionally draining. The worry, anxiety, focus.

But I feel like finally I can throw all my eggs in this one basket. We have one game to go. And as much as I want to feel nervous, Chip has got his boys focused and determined on this game. Finally, there can be no looking ahead. We're at the end of the road. I definitely am too superstitious to proclaim victory, but this is the best possible scenario I could have laid out 12 weeks ago.

I'm along for the ride for better or worse! This has just been a great great season!twocents

  • I have the biggest "office space" feeling at work - its going to be a long afternoon - the boss better not bother be today! Regarding the game, I feel confident but very nervous and don't want to jinx anything

  • To be honest, i'm FREAK'N OUT!!!bangheadbangheadexplode, however, who would have thought that we would be in this position? I know that we've have played really well the last few years but I thought it would be at least another 1 or 2 before were would be one game away from the NC game. My family and I have a "Duck Party" every gameday, we tailgate an hour or 2 before and make it seem like a REAL game. Last summer I bought an HD projector and we watch the game on my wall. Make its seems like your almost there, its projects like a 90 inch screen. Im so nervous and excited that ive watched almost every game in the past 3 days. GOOO DUCKS

  • i can't believe how unbelievably calm i am.

Oregon has way too many athletes and the Beaver defense is way too suspect. it may turn into a track meet before half-time.

it's going to be a long 27 hours till kickoff though...

  • I feel like I should be nervous, but I just can't seem to get there. After 1 games, your identity is pretty well set and the records speak for themselves.
I'm going to try and show up for the last hour of gameday and then try to find some duck fans to enjoy a tailgate.

  • I'm nervous for the game. It just seems like it is the last hurdle and it is normal to be a little worried. At this point anything less than NC game will be a huge disappointment.
It isn't relevant at all but all season I have been thinking about '07 and what could have been, and I'm hoping we can just finish business in Corvallis and get the hell out of dodge.

  • Game prep is the same as always, just making the usual Friday rounds. Will get up in the morning and get some wings grilling while Gameday is going on and just getting more amped as the game approaches.

  • It wouldn't be gameday eve if I weren't nervous, but I totally want to get this game over with. I have no doubt that our guys, knowing exactly what's on the line, will come out focused and motivated. I would LOVE for us to jump out to a solid and early lead and for the beavs to pack it in . . . so that I can sit back and soak in what we've accomplished this year for the rest of the game.

    Go Ducks! Beat the beavs!

    billm

  • As long as Oregon has not overlooked the Beavers like the entire ESPN crew and everyone picking this game, we'll be fine. LOL

  • I like that everyone's picking us, because in the past, even if we were ranked as high as we were, I think a large amount of the media would still be skeptical - they're finally buying in. That being said, it makes me nervous.

    yngtone

  • Ok. NOW I'm starting to get nervous. A bunch of what if's are flying through my mind. SOMEBODY CALM ME DOWN!! catfight

    glc0stanza

  • glc0, I'd say the Rose Bowl is still in hand, but that doesn't do it for me either. I do think the guys are focused for this game, Gameday is there and the anticipation for a Civil War is huge -I don't see them looking past it.

    yngtone

  • No offense, but what in the world would they be looking past? This is our last regular season game and if they win this one game, they will play for the national championship.

    billm

  • None taken at all, but I was referring to them looking past the Beavs to the the Natty. I don't see them doin' it, but it's been mentioned, so it's a point that I bring up. Fans looks past it, so I'm sure some players do as well. Of course I understand that they've got quite a while to think about the NC if they win tomorrow and that tomorrow is still a means to reach the championship game.

    yngtone

  • They look past tomorrow's game and they'll have the rest of their lives to kick themselves for doing so. Take care of business tomorrow and they can talk about a dream come true.
